  1. Hi Everyone, thanks for all this advice I have been trying different ways to solve this problem of spitting, I have replaced the carb body and replaced the internals with new. This has solved a lot of the problems, the only problem now is that on idle she ticks over lovely then has a bit of a miss. I am currently checking petrol, partially blocked air screw feed, I have a good friend Ray Tew helping me through this journey. I have to thank everyone for the support given from the WD circuit and on the forums, Ron, Ted, Jan and many others who have helped me source parts. I would have been still searching for parts now, but instead with all this help I took the CO to a show this weekend and also into the battle. I had lots of veterans having their pictures taken with my project, and it was a total pleasure to chat about their experiences. This is what I love about what we do, socialization at its best!! Respect to you all.
  2. What a great picture, thanks for sharing it.
  3. I had that view at first to keep the original tyres on then after putting it back together, and riding it I got the bug to want to ride it more.... Then my story began of finding more bits, new spokes, tyres and now trying to find a better carb to make it run sweet!!! Riding a safe bike costs a lot of time and money. I found this an eye opener, and with the help from the forums it would have been a lot harder!
  4. Thanks Ron, will keep searching also. Please let me know if you change your mind on our discussion.:cool2:
  5. Ron, wise words! I would also be aware of the paint having lead in it if sanding down, use a face mask. This was a long hard slog and in the end I had some parts bead blasted.
  6. I think mine is to badly damaged Ron, it been over tightened at the barrel it has become oval and ground to much! This has to be replaced....hope you got the book I sent through yesterday ok. Thanks for the help Ron
  7. Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help me acquire a long neck Amal 276 AC/1A or just the body (15/16 or 1" carb), the one on my WDCO is badly worn and is not fit for purpose; it spits like the dog on 'TISWAS'. I have found everyone on the forums very helpful on my sacred journey. Thanks :cool2:
  8. Anytime Ron.......looking forward to meeting you in person.
  9. Hi Ron, I got them from central wheels Monday the spokes cost £40, I also bought some tyres from them too. Ray made both wheels up for for £50, he is helping me sort out the bike ready for the 70th next year. Thanks for the help Ron, hope to see you soon.:cheesy:
  10. Hello fellow WD Owners, I am in the process of sorting out the wheels on my WDCO, and does anyone know how much roughly it is to re fit spokes. Also how much would you pay for galvanized spokes? Being new to this I am aware of how important sites like this are for information sharing, as I feel I take fifteen steps forward and twenty six back. Thanks for any help;)
  11. Thanks Ron, I just wanted to give a bit of a history of Royal Enfield to the public, and naming what my bike was. Thanks for the offer of the spindles also, that would be great just let me know what I owe you. Everyone who have helped me I want to thank in person one day. Regards Nick
  12. Thanks Chris, yes Ted has been able to sort me out. I just need rim, spokes and spindle. The forum is so helpful and so is it members! Hope to catch you all one day for a proper chat! Nick
  13. I have just made a board for displays, I hope this is OK for approval of the WDCO appreciation group! Please see attached! Feedback is good if not bad! lol
  14. The world would be a better place if HMVF/MVT were in charge, as working in coalition means things gets done!! Thanks Rick for the offer. Life is like a box of chocolates in this forum!:nut:
  15. Thanks Ron, spoke to Ted today he is such a nice guy as are you. It was good Chris Hall spoke to Ted too, I am such a lucky boy! Ted said today that he would give you his spare spindle for you to remake and he or you could post it to me, I will pay before either of you send. Ron my number is 07845327228 if you need to speak to me, my partner is seeing Ted on Saturday around 12-2; she is visiting her family in Ferndown. Thanks Ron I hope one day I can return all the help I have received:-).
  16. Thanks Ron I am unsure if Ted has a spindle lose, and I don`t want to make it difficult for him. Those bloody moths are a nightmare, but guess everything has a right to eat! lol I think my partner maybe going to see her family this weekend at Ferndown, and she will hopefully go to Teds for the bits. Take care Ron
  17. Thanks Ron, spoke to Ted today and he told me of the museum of mannequins; I think we have something else in common!:cool2: I don`t think I will be able to get down until August, as I will be doing Brighton run. This will be more cost effective for me, so I am going to explain to Ted that I will transfer money to him. I then can arrange collection of bits by Royal Mail, because I need them sooner. The only thing I can`t get from either Ted or Hitchcock's is the wheel spindle :undecided:. Best Regards Ron and thanks to all helping me in this search.
  18. Scot its was a total pleasure, and I saw you taking pictures of the battle. Hope you now have time to relax after being so busy. Nick
  19. Hi Ron, Ted said you have many great machines.......I hope I can be invited to see them sometime. I am hoping to visit Ted soon and wondered if I could come if that's OK. It is easy to become so consumed in this world, and I'm loving every minute; however my feet disagrees after being in ammo boots all weekend. Wartime in the Vale became Wartime on my feet from all the dancing, and going to meet new people with so many good bike/vehicles. :nut:
  20. I want to thank everyone who has helped me in regards to my Royal Enfield WDCO, I feel more confident to tackle the problems I may come across with the adventures WDCO. I have met a lot of enthusiasts at the Wartime in the Vale 2013, new friendships are always good! Nick;)
  21. Thanks Chris.....bang on! I am still hoping you can help me out of this situation. Regards Nick
  22. Thanks Ron and everyone else who has given me advice in regards to my dilemma! :nut:
  23. Thanks Ron, I am learning more every day from the knowledge shared on here. My quest continues, so please excuse my front wheel at events, or don`t look so hard. :nut: I am hoping I find one soon. Nick lol
  24. Hi Chris, Thanks for that I am hoping you can help me out when you come back in July in regards to the wheel. This was the wheel on the bike when it had been resprayed. This maybe a stupid question but could the brake plate be wrong, or the hole wheel?. Confused.com :blush:Nick
  25. Thanks for all this information everyone, the wheel plate has a securing fitting that looks like it is for girder forks. I will take the tax holder off, and insert another picture. If anyone comes across a WDCO wheel please let me know.
