i wouldnt mind taking my little beastie down but fuel costs and getting ready for beltring will kill it i think so it might just be a foot slogger with no vehicle thats if we get chance to come down
-
thanks very much maybe when i am rich i can get the paper based rather than PDF easier to take with me outside than the laptop lol
-
mentioning radios can anyone help me out with a list of what i would need to fit a 353 and a 352 into a S3 FFR landy because i havent got the faintest idea, its probably really simple and i am just been abit dopey lol
-
another yorkshire lad, i dont feel soo out numbered now lol
nothing wrong with airsoft i play and i have been doing for years lol i hated when they closed the MAT down it was like one of the only places that was worth a visit lol anyway welcome to the HMVF.
-
i bought the land rover in 2005 for £750 and i have spent easily £1000 doing it up and its still not finished lol
as a student its hard to get into this scene on a limited budget with the only things you can normally buy for say £500 are complete rust buckets needing thousands spending on them so it becomes a pointless exercise lol.
the club wise there arent thats many if you think about it here in yorkshire we have one which is the yorkshire MVT i know of no other and i have looked for 2 years to find others saying that the IMPS which i am a member of seems to only concentrate its focus "down south" and if you look at some of the new members that they are getting are lincolnshire and yorkshire plus the imps mag's editor lives in doncaster so personally if it wasnt for the net i wouldnt know of any of the groups that are out there.
i think in all the time i have been in the MV interest since i was about 8 so thats 12 years now lol i think the actual interest in restoring and preserving vehicles has grown alot but it seems to be only the WW2 vehicles (opening a can of worms i feel here) people seem to be forgetting the post war vehicles but it might just be the sites and forums i go around on that are giving me this impression.

but even so it still makes bad business sense because the weeks show must make £3million easy it has to on the public alone

Remember this johnathon, without us mv owners, there would be no show. If you are paying to go to a show then the facilities must be perfect, after all, if you go to a camp site you would expect first class toilets and showers.
i am not forgetting that fact but i have been to campsites and paid more than at the war and peace and got worse toilets showers etc, but i also look at it this way i would rather pay alittle to keep it going because lets face it, its the best and biggest show in the world that something i think if it takes us to pay alittle to keep that going then i am not gunna complain, i have been to shows where i have paid nothing and not got treated half as good as you do at the war and peace because some show organisers have no idea what they are dealing with, where clearly the war and peace has.
but getting back to the point i was making the show wont close after this year it makes really really bad business sense

water and slit create an-aerobic conditions which slows the decay and rot process to a near stand still look at roman jettys and moorings that have been found in rivers that are made of wood that have been perfect preserved, metal is the same as wood the problem is when oxygen gets to it the metal reacts and corrsion begins
not bad for failing A-level archaeology lol
also if you look at the end of the first vid the tracks arent moving it is been dragged because there is no moment in the tracks on the first vid

well when i was there this year we were talking to some of the staff and we were told that rex has signed another 10 year contract with the new owners to continue the show and run it for another 10 years, so i dont know but the holiday homes will just make more money for the hop farm so it makes sense to build some and it also makes sense to keep the showing going.
also the guy who heads up the company who have bought it is as mad about military vehicles as we are (yet again so i am told) so he wont be stopping it, i think its the rumor mill stirring again, like last years with the that been the last one which turned out to be wrong so in my eyes its just the rumor mill yet again stirring back to life, plus paying for entry to the show i dont think is bad because look at what you get, i dont mind paying it

does anyone have some drawings or photos of 110 pinkys or WMIK's?
the reason is i have a friend who is making one of these and he wants to get it right which i dont blame him, so if you have any of these that are online or whatever i would be greatful because it will serve for his vehicle and if i do one later on in my life
thanks

were i live in barnsley well infact down my street is an old tank factory, our road is reinforced to take the weight of them and there is the rail link out the back i remember been told by a elderly person who has lived in our village all her life that she remembers tanks going up the street and on the railway and i got her to describe them to me and it appears they were churchills and cromwells then switched back to making gaskets and seals

I see the Bedford on Scrap Heap Challenge finally got the chop tonight
yeah, i was sick, i could have rescued that, still no ones touched the saracen yet lol
-
this argument is been batted around all over the place i am a airsofter aswell as a MV owner and i have all the kit inc a relics SA80 (L85A1) and a Airsoft M249 mk2 and i just dont understand why people seem to have a problem with selling replica weapons within the community for example re-enactor to re-enactor or MV owner to MV owner but the VCR hasnt stopped anything but made more problems for legitimate owners/users.
relics now has to use the specifed color on there guns but this invites people to repaint them thus breaking the law.
so you choose but i think this bill is a complete waste of time same with the hand gun ban

could the last few pics be MAN's i dont know the numbers but thats what they look like to me
