Hi B Series,
Thank you for those. I am sure that I have seen a census number to VRN listing somewhere. I wonder too whether the LONDON BRIDGE bridgelayer is the same WW 2 AVRE.

High Bob,
Thank you for pointing these out. I have added HIGHBURY and FIREFLY to the list which will be on V6 and credited to you.
I have not added it to the list but I assume that lurking somewhere is a photo of a Matilda II and possibly a Sherman named HIGHBURY from 8RTR?
Cheers

Thanks Bob, at least we know the Mk and which listing it belongs to.

Hi Bob,
Thank you for checking that so we don't know if this is a post war Churchill. I will for ward to Dick Taylor to see where he thinks we should put this name.

Thanks guys - nice to see who is taking an interest
It has been really good to get to do some work on the truck, but lockdown has given me a chance to make some other bits...
Next installment on Friday

Hi,
I am following your posts with interest as I am currently building a 1/35th model of the MWC by Gecko Models.
Could I ask if you could post some more pictures of the engine, if you have any, as this would be a help to add additional details to the engine.
Cheers

The Churchill AVRE, now at the Tank Museum, had FIREFLY on the air intake boxes when it was recovered. It is not on the list of WW2 or Post War listings. Please inform Dick.
Hi Bob,
Thank you for that. This is exactly the sort of detail we are looking for. Do you know when the Churchill was recovered? I don't suppose the census number or any other markings such as div signs were on the AVRE? Normally we would ignore names and census numbers on museum restored vehicle as there a lot of spurious name / census number matches out there but as this is a recovered tank the name is obviously genuine. I will drop Dick a line and let him know. Thanks again and sorry for all the questions.

D Day Dodger 11 and D-Day Dodger 11 seem very similar, so are they not the same vehicle, slightly misreported? Apologies for the 11s.
Another incorrect spelling is Deterrant, which should be Deterrent.
Again, I missed the fact this had been noted, so more apologies and no more comments from me.
ARMENTIERS changed for V6
DETERRANT was as spelt
D DAY DODGERS ( D-DAY DODGERS ), probably 2 different vehicles with the latter probably III ( crew error ).

Attached is a Pre WW 2 pdf file listing vehicle names. The file was compiled by Dick Taylor.
If you add anything or see any errors please let me know and I will forward the query to Dick.

Whoops, I nearly missed Armintiers 1914, which should be Armentiers 1914.
The vast majority of the Post War names have been compiled by Dick Taylor, i will run the name and source by him to see what he says.

Brilliant, superb detailing.
Thanks for your kind words. It was 67Burwood's build that inspired me to do it.

Thanks Kevin the detail is fantastic, it may take awhile for mine to look like that.
Thanks for your kind words. It was your build that inspired me to complete the kit, I think the only thing that is missing is a couple of round mirrors.

Hi Richard and B Series,
The Resicast update set provides all of these with the exception of any hand tools or welding equipment although I do have additional sets covering these items. The only piece only machinery with a name on it is the bench drill by AJAX. The instructions include a small diagram of the layout, I have managed to find a larger clearer image, attached.
Richard any additional pictures will be a great help, thank you. All I need know is to know how the machinery was cabled up.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers

I am looking for information of the type and layout of machinery used on the WOT 6.
I am working on ICM's 1/35th scale model with the Resicast X type Machinery update set. Having searched the internet for photos showing machinery, layout and wiring I am at a loss as there are very few on-line photos or data pages that are of any use. Attached is my attempt to correct the Resicast GS body for the WOT 6.
Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.

I am working on the Mirror Models 1/35th scale model of the Diamond T 969A hard cab Wrecker.
I am looking for WWII photos and valid census numbers of the wreckers used in British / Canadian service. I am struggling to find either. Any help would be much appreciated.

I am doing a parallel build of AFV Club 1/35th scale A.E.C. Dorchester LP and HP.
Can anyone help me with any photos or know of any restored vehicles.
I do have the drawings pack from The Tank Museum which will be a great help.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Any photos of restored Mk III's out there. I believe the hulls are welded and the engine covers are different too.

I have some manuals for the various AEC armoured cars, I'll have a look and see what's in them.
Great. Thanks Adrian. I just to add some wiring detail around the engine so any additional info is most welcome.

Post WW 2 Vehicle Names Listing
in Research Centre
Posted
Thanks Bob,
The reason I asked about the name is that all the names and numbers are from either photographs, War Diaries and personal accounts, we have tried to be careful not to use museum / restored vehicle names and numbers unless they are backed up by a photograph or documents. As you said you once owned it I was unsure about the history of the name.
Cheers
