Thanks Wally .I'll get down to the local engineering shop and see if they have any copper pipe and olives to fit, and make up new pipe work .If they haven't any on the shelf I'll to do a temporary fix and wire it in place .
I think I'll look putting a thread on it if there is enough metal there to cut .

You're right, haven't answered you but were thinking you would send the picture anyway at some time. Sorry for my misunderstanding. I would love to come to Arnhem but am afraid the truck will not be ready by then. So, a picture and some measurements would be great as an alternative, but please take your time Davey as I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Danny
Hi Danny
Managed to get under the truck today ,hope these are of some use . Ignore the pozi headed screws I ran out S/S slotted , they are to be replaced :-D
Dave

Haven't had time to get under the truck yet to take a picture of its location .............. you haven't answered me :-D.................. do you want a block? no charge apart from the cost of postage , or wait till I come over to Arnhem in September
Dave
Hope I'm not too pushy when I remind you both again to my questions. No further responses so far!Who does not ask will not become wiser!

Hi all,It's that time of year again to get the jeep insured and was wondering who is best to use. I'm with carol nash at moment and the price is £206 which I don't think is too bad.

Give me a couple of day's and I'll take a picture of the location for you
Dave
Davey, how many slotted blocks for the battery cable are fitted and at what location were they fitted? Would it be possible to get the measurements of those blocks.Jeremy, would it be possible to get the measurements of the pick axe blocks, if you have some time?
Thanks,
Danny

 ,
Yes door jambs are in production -
Ah jack block , that's why there wasn't one fitted on mine , sorry for changing subject slightly , if you're still going to make some of the door jambs Jeremy I'll have a couple
Hi Danny that looks like a set of blocks I posted on eBay a while ago, they're very close reproductions of early cab blocks the difference is that later cabs did not have the curved block for the Jack as it was located in a different position. I can make you a set using Canadian red cedar or give you a cutting list so you can make your own -

Hi Danny
The ones on the right look correct , they are the same pattern of what was left of mine, the only one that wasn't on mine is the one that is on the bottom row far right , is that for the shovel on earlier models instead of the spring clip and block ?
On the left picture the pick axe blocks which were fitted in my late bedford mw which, to my opinion, are poor reproductions. On the right side a picture from the internet of some, I believe, correct reproductions for the (early) mw. Does anybody know if these blocks were made according to a certain standard or would they differ in each truck?I might be asking too much for the original dimensions of these blocks?

I dont know if these people can help you , Robson and Francis 020 7733 2353 .
I found them very helpful when trying to get hold of the Brushes and bronze bushes for my MW Dynamo and Starter motor , they actually made me some new ones using what was left of the old ones as patterns and had the bronze bushes on the shelf.
Dave
I need some CAV DBNB dynamo brushes for my K5 & all I can find on ebay is this. And I cant find any on the internet, where can I get some from ? cheers

Hi Jeremy
Its the only pic I could find on the net of something that looked like the one I want :-D . That seems to be my problem at the minute ,where I've put some of the small bits and pieces with it being that long in doing the truck :nut: I've just had a PM from ?? :cool2:
By the way that jack looks well in its slot :thanx: , good meeting up with you at Stoneleigh .
I might be putting those bits up for sale soon ....Bonnet , Front Panel , Bumper and some other bits and pieces when I've sorted through what I'm keeping , struggling for space ..... the wheels are sold .
Dave
Oooooops ! Hia Dave I had to make my own as I couldn't source any :cool2: may have one original as a pattern but God knows where it is now, by the way the ones in the pic look like the outside type as the inside spring is long and thinner.RR.

I am desperately looking/in need of the following, any leads or offers would be greatly appreciated,
Kevin
Fuel tanks ( happy to consider something that needs repairing )
Fuel tank taps, change over valves etc
Pair of seats
Anything else MW you may no longer have a use or need for
Whereabouts are you located , I'm just finishing an MW reno and will probably have bits left over i.e Bonnet , wheel rims ,front panel (repaired) , front bumper , maybe some dashboard bits think I have NOS speedo , couple of the other gauges (to rebuild) maybe a fuel tank , possibly some other bits and pieces .I'll know better when I get everything together .

Yes you right there John it was a hell of a job :cool2: just waiting for the patterns for the mesh now as it'll take some time to get them cut will probably get half a dozen pairs made if anyone else needs some early panels or mudguards :-D I have the technology so they say.
Like button :-D

Hi Danny
They were in place on my MW , we replaced the cable and these were a tight fit ,so didn't really need anything to hold them in place when they were re fitted.
Dave
I don't know if this is a good description but let me name it "metal spring casing" which were around the battery cables of my bedford MW. The longer one was around the positive cable and the short one around the negative cable of course. Is this correct?I don't know if this is an original bedford MW part but its function seems logical to me. It will prevent wearing of the cables entering the battery box. But how are they held in place? I'm sure somebody knows.
Thanks, Danny

Anybody got an idea about the current turnround time for vehicle enquiries to the RLC Museum? My enquiry, using the form available online was sent to them in the middle of August
Plenty of time yet :-D..............I've sent 2 enquiries rang and spoke with a guy twice that'll be over the last 3 yrs ................... still no response YET  , so wouldn't hold your breath .

if you look at the film Battle of Britain you will see a bedford with out the canvas on, you can see the two brackets they are at back but should be at the front.
I'll look out for that .
