  1. Predominantly US but will get used for odd Brit and Polish Para days just to confuse things , cammo netting used to cover a whole lot of stuff up.

I will try and stay away from it being too unit specific.

I may even just return it to as it was pre paint job, with shipping stenciling, 2x 5" stars at rear and bonnet numbering.

  2. Anyone in here ever had to have anything major done to a vehicle by a garage/dealer?

I have to get some problems sorted on my jeep and this is to be funded by the insurance who have given me carte blanche to have them fixed where ever I wish, so any feed back on how good dealers/ garages are would be appreciated.

  3. Hi Stephen. You can see my efforts on the picture above.

Bumper is removed altogether and replaced with 2 cylinders machined from a JCB hydraulic ram and welded to plates that attach to the bumper mounts on the chassis legs.Through the cylinders is passed a piece of 3" gas pipe with an A frame of 3x2 box section and a 50mm cast ball coupling on the top just to round it off nicely. That is hidden under the sacking as it looks a little too new even though its painted.

Whole ensemble cost me £40 .

This is so strong it survived the little rolling excursion into the ditch unscathed. But may have been responsible for the extensive chassis damage!!

System is unbraked, but the towing vehicle is well on top of the job of stopping it.

I of course wouldn't dream of using it on the highway unless the Jeep was broken down, as with a broken down vehicle you don't need a braking system as it is not a trailer.

  4. Just a quick line to say hello,

1942 MB owner, found it in Belgium, February 2004. Went across there on foot with an Asda bag full of Euros , bought it & drove it back to live in good old Yorkshire.

January this year managed to roll it end over end, it hurts, doing so is not to be advised!!!!

    Tim
