  2. Appears in JSP 768 Operational Clothing Catalogue 2010 as "PONCHO, COMBAT Woodland DPM IRR, with no reference to Special Forces issue (the SAS windproof has the additional note "not for general issue"). Incidentally the cost guide for the Mk 2 Modified is £41.86 against £21.91 for the SAS Windproof. Also there is reference to a Desert version of the MK2 Modified with the additional note "Modified garment not yet procured" - I don't believe it ever was.

  4. Not wanting to appear a pedant, but this is a JAMES Report not MERLIN. MERLIN is no longer used, all the ERM data has been transferred to JAMES, although the same database is used for the UINs. Basically the reports are in a different format but contain the same information.

  5. All 5 of the old format CESs (Army Coded / Green covered publications) that covered the different variants of TUL/TUM were superseded by AESP 2320-D-122-741 TRUCK UTILITY LIGHT, TRUCK UTILITY MEDIUM, LAND ROVER 90/110, WINTERISED VARIANTS Complete Equipment Schedule (last edition April 2011), which covers all TUL/TUM variants including Asset Code NB 17103103 / NSN 2320 99 893 7004.

  6. I know these locks look like standard Land Rover items, but I believe that they are unique to Snatch - they have much longer threaded spindles to pass through the thickness of the armour and enable the outer handles to be detached so that the lock can be replaced from the inside of the door. They are NP Aerospace parts rather than Land Rover.Left Hand Lock:-NSN 7NP 2540-99-168-7468NP Part No. 11431-011 Right Hand Lock:-NSN 7NP 2540-99-708-9389 NP Part No. 11430-11
