Hi people,i have a white painted jerry can that has been galvanised and the seams soldered.
The markings on it are G on the top of the sides for gasoline i presume,No date stamped any where, and a circle on the bottom with some symbals in it that i cant read.
It has a srew type oppening with the wire and chain as usual(although chain is missing) for retaining the cap.
There is no rubber seal under the cap,and doesnt look like there has been one.
The inside of the can has some surface rust on it,but not bad.
The white paint is quite a cream colour with no external painted markings.
I very nearly threw it out as it looked at first glance to be just a rusty jerry can that had seen better days and was of no use to anyone, but i noticed the galv coating and the white paint with no drab underneath, first impression was a water can?,but i dont know.
There is a brass plug about 4" up from the bottom on one end, perhaps for a tap??.
Has anyone else come across this on a jerry can?
