  1. Hello fellow members, I'm having some real trouble finding a set of swivel ball oil seal's for my Quad gun tractor, Please can anyone help, even a size or part number would help, This project has ground to a halt and was over taken by my Ferret project, (which is almost finished now). I dont want to abandon it to the junk pile just yet:cry:, so any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks Ross

  2. Thats quite a project to undertake. I take my hat off to you!

She is still not finished but looks a little better now, after nearly 3 years work and LOTS of Ferret rash.:nut:

Have you got my ferret on your register? got lots of pics i can send you of the hole rebuild if ya like.

  3. Simex ST24, made in Malaysia. Good luck trying to get some in the country, I tried back in 2003 and others have tried since. To begin with they would only sell a container load at £200 a tyre, then they lost interest all together.

    So what is the alternative?

  4. My next question is the age old one about tires, 900x16 dunlop track grip. I have read on other thread's on this site how they are made under licence in India and someone has even brought in a bulk load a few years ago, so where do i get these tires, can anyone help me?

  5. I have a picture of 00DD25,( I thinks its that) , hard to see the second "D" in the number.

And 00DD27 - sorry its not yours , but its close....

That would be great, thanks. Also do you remember what the uniform was like then, was it light weights and jumpers, or dpm, and what flashes and markings would you have warn.

  6. 12 Fd Sqn RE was at Roberts Barracks Osnabruck, I was there with 43 Sqn in the late eighties. You could try the RE Museum at Chatham for official information. Or ask on the ARRSE forum, you may find ex Sqn members on there who remember it

Thanks, Dont suppose you have any pics.

  7. Hi guys. Decided to start my own thread so i can ask questions that relate directly to my Ferret. I apologise if I'm repeating questions already asked.

My first question relates to the vehicles history.

According to my vehicle history card she served with 2 armoured engineer squadron from 1972-75, and 12 field squadron Royal Engineers from 1976-92. both in Germany (BAOR). I would like to mark up the Ferret as one of these, Probably the latter as i have fitted her out with Clansman and a GPMG. can any one help me.

    Thanks Ross

Hi guys, nice pics. I notice the front one is painted sand and blue!!!. I was wondering if anyone knows if stalwarts ever served in the gulf in 91, like the ferrets.Or any where else exotic. I know mk1's served in aden. It would be nice to paint 1 in a scheme thats not green and black. Ross

  9. According to my info. 01DC76 is in contract KL/A/0200. and this contract only went as far as 01DC86. KL/A/0248 followed starting with 00DD01. I got the contract numbers from an issue of Classic Military Vehicle. issue number 113 oct 2010. aaah my head hurts. HELP!!!

Great response guys, thanks, will get to the bottom of this yet.

  10. Hi there guys, I'm new to this forum and to the Military vehicle scene.

I seam to be in a similar pickle as some of you. let me explain. I bought my ferret mk 2/3 as a burnt out wreck in 2008. She is nearly complete now, but, i don't know its original reg number, her hull number is 2897-11-61. i was wondering if anybody has a hull number close to this?

Also i'm looking for a copy of the war and peace vehicle list (booklet, brochure) for 1998, 2001 and 2003 as this ferret was there.

    many thanks

    Ross
