Not sure which way to go with the project. I would like to keep the original look at the front and maybe put a pick up bed on the rear, if I use the original cab the doors may be a problem. I have had it running now and even had a little drive, its only done 19000 km / 1400 Hr. This weekend I am going to start working out what I can keep and what needs to be removed.

I have now purchased a GMC Tavern and I am looking forward to having it transported to me on Tues 1st Sept. I cannot wait to get started on the beast.

Hi I have found a few of these in Doncaster. I am going to look at them tomorrow. I already have a chevy pick up and I am hoping to use this for spares. How hard are they to get running and have you managed to register yours ?

Hello all from Royston Herts . I have just joined the forum due to being interested in military vehicles and I am hoping to purchase a GMC Tavern and put it back on the road. I am going to try and use some of the parts from a chevy truck I have to help me along with the project. I own a local garage with an old school chum and one of our ramps is a large american two post, so this should help lift the beast. I am looking forward to meeting like minded people on this forum.

Hi I have just joined the forum. I have been looking for one of the taverns to rebuild and have found a guy in doncaster that has 8 for sale, I am going to look at them on monday. I already have a chevy truck so I am hoping to combine the two. How have you got on getting your going and is the registering a major problem ?
