Hi Steve.
For me, ithas to be June 6th commerations down at Upottery. Which is where elements of 101st Airborne left for D-day in the late hours of June 5th. The C47's then came back to tow the gliderborne troops across.
It was the formal unveiling of a memorial to all of the men that didn't come box and the memorial is a Sentry box that stood on the edge of the marshalling area, it is now listed.
Runway 27, is the runway that they took of from on June 5th 1944 they would of passed Eliza and taken off into the distance, destination, Normandy.
Very very special place.

Dear all.
Was thinking about having a 'restoration' section within each vehicle category, this will allow us to show the rest of the members the progress and the different methods employed in the restoration of any vehicles, this will also allow for tips and tricks of the trade to be posted. I think I will start and post some of my GMC.
Best wishes.
Jack.

Morning all.
Just a quick one.
I read at the D-Day museum yesterday that the first Dodge WC's were supplied to the British and used for the North Africa campaign.
Can anyone shed any light on this and would be interested to know what colour they were sprayed.
Cheers.
Jack.

Hi Ross.
Welcome aboard!
That sounds like a special day out especially driving through the city centre seeing as it was pretty well blitzed. This site could of done with going live earlier in the year as we would all have time to work the shows out.........sorry about that
I will let those who I know, know about it but please do take some pictures and post them up on here.
What do you drive?
Cheers.
Jack.
