Hi All
Now that me and the crew have had a week polishing/greasing/sorting out bits and bobs with the Truck and the Gun we are all ready for the next show.....Wartime in the Vale at Badsey, Evesham again , Like the Overlord show its one of them shows that has such a relaxed atmosphere and every one just makes you feel welcome , A real chilled weekend and with the old wartime camp there that you can walk about and slip back in time and especially when the woman singer started singing Lili Marlene ........Just pure bliss.....I know I know I know i am babbling now. :-D:-D:-D For those of you that are thinking about coming to this show ......You will not be Disappointed

Just got home after eight days working to set up run and clear away show. Unknown to many of you are the hassles we had with the embittered guy ovrr the hedge who had failed to buy the fields last time they were up for sale. He complined about everything from firing the howitzers to the noise of polesfrom 12x12 tents clanking together and tried to turn thevillagers against us
Bad weather forecast for monday and fewer people through gatesdue to HM jubillee celebrations probably made some traders leave. Last day always looks as if exhibits are gone bse many people pack their canvas away ready for travel and big spaces appear.
Boom boom and the rest of the guys eere gutted to leave but they had all come in the one vehicle and with a child ill in hospital what would you expect the dad to do? Just hope babby is getting better and pass on best wishes fromall at SOE
Either we stay friendly and relaxed or lay down rules about turn up and leaving times. How long before our lifeblood, the re-enactors, traders and exhibitors desert us for being draconia
n?
If those who feel that their monday was wasted by seeing only two thirds of the350 vehicles would like to pm me with comments and snail mail address i will send them complimentary tickets for next year as a part recompense for your disappointment
Rob (safety bloke)
Written on mobile as broadband is still down after a week and visits by bt and talk talk with assurances now fixed
pm
pm me
Many Many Thanks for the kind thoughts Rob and the SOE team
My son was born with a hole in the heart and any virus in the air will hit him for six and its off to hospital we go But tonight he has had a bit of a play with my other children and will soon be using my spanners again and removing all the dam door handles:D
But next year we were thinking of bringing all my kids 3 of my own and 6 adopted..........Is there room for a coach at the show:D:D:D
Thanks again SOE

Sorry to hear about your kid.. but "Get there early"!! 9:45am not early enough?? as said it was billed as a 3 day show but you expect everyone to turn up on the first day... get real.. rant over lol
OOOH must of touched a nerve:rofl:
-
Even the Living History field looked a bit empty, not sure how much was there earlier during the weekend but at 11am on Monday there was even one trench completely empty with just a kid and an adult sitting at the end with there kit all packed up.. if any group didn't stay for the duration at the BB they wouldn't be welcome again.. No excuse for cars in a Living History Field.. straight after the 11:15am battle we saw German armour being put on a truck & ready to leave.
Yes at every show people start leaving in the afternoon but not first thing in the morning, didn't pay to watch people pack there kit up & see what car they own.. to me the lay out ressemled a boot sale..
It was someone in a Hi-vis that informed us that the FH70 wouldn't be firing..
As a show organiser myself I know how hard it is to put on a show but as they claim they have been doing this for 35years they should have it right by now..
Sorry but it needs to be said
Yes it is sad that folk where leaving early but remember most of them folk had been there from Friday and they have family's at home .
You know the day the show started but you decide to turn up nearing the end of the show and start moaning and criticise the way the show has been put on.
You may know about putting shows on and in the same case you should also know that there are all ways unforseen factors that present themselves .
I packed my FH70 away to leave as one of my children fell ill and was taken to Hospital and that is the reason why i left and if you wanted to see the guns firing ....then get there early.
Thats my rant over with
Well done Overlord Crew
