  4. I think today is the last days work on steviem jeep that involved rebuilding the passengers side front wing and what a job I think i could now weld a tee bag as today that's what i have done it turned out well a bit out of shape so with the help of a big hammer it now fits some body filler ,red primer and the last of the top coat very dark drab then bolted on. Next week end its  back off to steviem and he is going to finish it off just remember i am at the end of the phone, hope you have enjoyed the rebuild as i have and i think i will do the same again putting up the rebuild photos with my next jeep for myself it is a very late ford GPW  no filter on bulkhead, deep mud exhaust and 700x16 tyres all the best jerry

  13. if you tell me if your jeep is a willys or ford and the frame number i will work out the number that it came out of the factory with for you it would start with USA 20 then the number the first photo is an early ford build with a willys frame not the placement of the star 2nd photo is also an early ford and the owner asked for it to be done for Normandy as his grandfathers jeep that is why the number is in blue with white over it as was done for D DAY

  14. Today job have fitted the rad and waiting for the new rad  pipes i decided to strip down the starter motor some work needed first its a gpw castings and one of the bolt lugs has been welded on as its cracked off in the past the brush end needed to be skimmed up  in the lath and on stripping down the bendix i found the inside has been smashed up all the brushes need to be replaced as well so its back on to the dealers to find the parts which are hard to find for starter motors

  17. Also you may notice that the t.case is from an m38 jeep T90 i made a jig so i could mill cut a grove in the casting to allow for the shift leavers and the interlocking plunger on the T84, the T90 gearbox has all this in the top casting with the gear leaver

    • Thanks 1
  18. to day finished the gearbox and t case rebuild and its time to let the green paint  dry then its bolt and set the clutch cover fit the gearbox's to the engine  photos from yesterday as well the funny wing shaped bit (photo 2) is the spacer/clamp to make up the bit of casting that was missing (photo 1) i don't think it will look out of place what do you think i also had to fit a nut to the centre bolt as the thread had been drilled out (photo 6)
