  1. Being female and brought up by my Grandparents and Mother who thought going out side to play was a dangerous activity I did not have the chances of many on here to get muddy or oily. I had to content myself with looking after and riding my imaginary horses. :|

Once I left school I did that for real and worked with Hunters, breeding stock and show horses. The money was non existent so eventually had to get a 'propper Job' and ended up working in a garage supervising the forcourts. Luckily this was in the days of hot cars and conversions. :-D Every mechanic in the place gave their vehicle some sort of treatment and I met my 1st husband who gave my 105E Ford Anglia ' a bit of a going over' fitted a V6 3 litre engine, Jag back axle, uprated front suspension.....and Wayhay I was off like a scolded cat making all the lads with their Mexicos and RS 2000 eat my dust.

Then got involved with a motor stunt team - used to have great fun driving a Fairlain 500 Black & White police car up and down the contry to shows., (needles to say by this time my over protective mother had given up and now is unsurprised by anything I do). I remained a little 'off the wall' as my friends put it but always kept my horses. the last being a horse trained to joust with a Geoff Winships Medieval Jousting Show- great out hunting would charge through anything :schocked: .

 Then I met HF................................. Things have got steadily madder from that point on - lots of fishing comps off Chesil Beach, tractors, Scuba diving all round the Dorset coast (not bad for someone who is scared of being in a boat and cant swim very well), a collection of Rover cars - 80, 90, 100 etc the one with the freewheeling gearbox was terrifying. Shooting, ...it goes on till we get to this point of falling into MVs with the first one being a lightweight Landrover about 5 years ago. :-D

    Looking back I wouldn't change a thing

  2.

We refer to them as the "Taliban Taxi".. ;-)

    :-D I like that :-D

After do many helpfull comments from those 'in the know' it looks like I'm in for a change of transport. Not sure how that will look at shows when it turns up as support to whatever himself is driving :|

Will be sad to sell my little Daihatsu Sportrak as their is nothing wrong with it, it goes anywhere and its cheap to run.................................... but if he wants to spend his money, who am I to deny him the pleasure.

P.S. The offending beast is Pillarbox Red :schocked:

  3. Thanks to all for the Birthday Wishes - a very good time was had by yours truly :nut:

Photographic evidence will be found posted in the very near future.............................. don't say I didn't warn you.

  4. Spot on Jack :-D

Just one point that has arisen through discusions of this topic in our household -

So you use your full/real name, and are transparent with all your details. Whoopee :| little snotty Johny who comes on here to have a nosey round sees - the name etc, list of vehicles and more often than not pretty good info regarding where these vehicles are parked/ stored and then we all tell each other where we are going, and on what dates and times. Basically all Snotty Johny need to know :dunno:

    Yours truley

    Mr & Mrs Hardyferret

  5. Oh Yes :-D I used to have one of those Reno 4 vans and used to go hunting in it twice a week. Regularly followed the Portman Hounds, and South Dorset on occasion, over all kinds of country - and was always there at the end. They where so capable and cheep to run. :-D

I certainly could not afford a 4 x 4 in those days.

  6. Very Best Wishes for a Happy Birthday Rosemary

I hope you don't get to read this until late in the morning as that will mean you have had a nice lie  in and maybe breakfast in bed........................ :-D

Thanks to the generous folks at Wessex Gate Retail Park. We had a great time and raised lots of money for the appeal.

I'm sure Jack will have some more photos to add

  8. Hi hf i will be there as well if there is room for me?

Ok - will be there Mrs HF - now have indicators and brake lights :-D - the boy is a genius

Well done guys :-D any idea what sort of time you will be there - so we can have the space ready for you ?

PS. Jack can you bring your collecting tin too please. I will have tee and coffee kit in the back of the pig :-D :cofee:

  9. HF's..........I intend to be there. Do we have enough room??

I have had a chat with the manager and security - we are welcome to park whatever there but we have to fight off the normal (I use this word loosely) customers for the best parking. So me and himself are going to be there before the store opens at 9am and take up as much room as we can so hopefully we can just do a bit of budging up when you arrive.

Also have just been told that Tynham church will be holding a remembrance day service at 3pm on Sunday. They have a full church, band, loads of Joe public, the works. If the weather is nice on Sunday we could maybe mosey on down there after lunch ?

There is only 2 services a year held at Tynham church - remembrance day and a service some time in August.
