I made a pair with estimated dimensions from pictures. I used mine to get two modern trucks out of the sand last weekend so they do work.

I joined a little while ago but got behind on things so I didn't post an introduction sooner. I am a retired US Navy submariner working as a technical writer and Sheriff's Deputy. I am an avid reenactor and currently I have an LRDG unit that is working on restoring a Jeep while we look for a suitable truck.

I am an American and I have been asking this on the American boards. No one seems to know, was there a standard bracket for mounting jerry cans on British Commonwealth vehicles during WWII? If so how was it made or are any available for sale (original or reproduction)? Most folks over here don't even seem to want to admit that we were not the only country fighting.:shocked:
