  1. Had a very good time here.

Arrived thurs morning and just got back.

Good seeing all the champs in the arena on sat.

Bumped into catweazle and his champ owning mate who came over from australia!

Not as many stalls as I expected, due to the weather I reckon, the weather was ok ish on sat/sun, but the bloody rain was pretty much non stop!

Good site, and toilets were spot on.

    Well done to all.

  2. Ive painted bundles of land rovers in NATO satin green over the years.

What you should do is go to your local car paint shop, thats where I go, what you want is synthetic, the good thing about synthetic is you can put it over anything.

    I use a gloss roller.

Ive also used marcus glen in the past, speedy delivery and good paint.

    How I painted mine;

  3. @ safariswing;

Lee, whilst I agree with some of your points, exactly the same thing happens at w+p, and yet you defend w+p when it's disscussed on here.

In my experience, some people always pack up on the last morning of every show. The last sunday of w+p people are streaming out of the exit gate and going home.

  4. I really enjoyed the show.

You can't make people stay on site to the end, w+p try it, but never succeed.

Civvie vehciles? Thats a tough one, some shows are stricter than others.

I found all the overlord team very very helpful.

Even had a security van driving around between 6pm/6am keeping an eye on everything, which was a brilliant idea, and yet, someone moaned about it! Can't please everybody, thats for sure.

We all have a different idea of a good show, for me it's= good stalls, good toilets, good staff, and overlord have them all.

  5. Just got baCK.

    Had a brilliant time!

We were very lucky with the weather, rained a few nights, but that was it.

Bought an absolute bargin, a 52mm clock for my landy=£5!

Good to see everyone, chris, dave, pete, kim, lee, ian etc etc.

Only negitive point was people and traders packing up on sunday.

  6. 1 of my friends has just bought a civvy canvas tent for the comming season.

It's got a white roof and blue walls.

He needs to change the colour and waterproof it.

I have come up with the idea of using fence panel stain.

Ive tried it on a very old thick cotton sheet, and a piece of wood, and the results look promising.

I will be doing it at overlord and will start a thread with photos when ive done it.

  7. Can anyone tell me why ....

.....on those LRDG Jeeps they cut great big pieces out of the steel radiator 'grill'??.

.. ...A normal radiator grill on a Jeep surely wouldn't have impeded the airflow at all from a cooling point of view and cutting the grill like that surely exposed more of the radiator to possible damage ......so...........what was the point of doing it??

    baffled I is.............:-)

PS: I can see you might wanna cut those out on the passenger side to fit the condenser can in but why hack the others out?...... ????

and double PS: .....I see on the wartime Jeeps the condenser can was just lashed to the front of the grill ....so there was no need to cut the grill to fit a condenser anyway.....

    proper baffled now !

I have thought the same thing over the years.
