  1. I need to colour/dye/paint some canvas, did it work ?

Yes, but if I was to do it againe I would use a branded fencepaint, ronseal for example.

Took about 5 coats as asda fence paint was very very transparent.

  2. Just to let all the regulars know, the plains tour is still on, next weekend, 28/29/30 sept.

Tony has lost his password for on here so has asked me to keep you updated.

We will be camping on a new site, just behind The weyhill fair pub,

Weather was scorching hot and ive burnt my head. See lee and co and pete and kim.

Not many stalls, but, it was not an MV show, so only to be expected.

Some excellent aircraft on display and flying.

The herc landed and nearly blew us away!

  4. I did not go due to a dis agreement with the previous organisers, much along the same lines as others have said.

It seems the new organisers are doing the right things, and 99% of the comments I have read on MO have been positive.

I reckon the new organisers really have to push the show for next year, let people know there are new organisers and they are listening.

I do agree though, MO is a living history show and not a MV show so can understand thier reluctance to let in to many jeeps/land rovers. Would be nice to see them allow all mv's, after all, the site is huge, from what I remember.

Must admit, I used to really enjoy MO, liked the site/stalls/living history and it had the best beer tent ive ever been in at a show.

  5. When I was on the plains tour a few years ago, we met up with some soldiers that had just returned from iraq. One of them told me that we gave our stirlings to the iraqi's, and he had trained them up how to use them.

I also saw a video on youtube of the americans firing a stirling on a range in iraq.
