Did you know about this movie in advance or was this just your lucky day?

Brilliant story and photo's!
I've visited Normandy about 2 years ago near Arromanches but didn't get beyond Pointe du Hoc. So much to see there that you can spent weeks there and wouldn't see the same thing twice. Next year I'm going back again, now I'm absolutely sure.

Darn that I didn't know it! It would have been great to meet you.. Perhaps next time?
I missed the visitors day, spent the day with the g/f which was a well spent day although I probably missed a lot of fun.

It was a liberation tour, we drove around the battlefields where the 101st airborne and the 43rd Wessex fought in the aftermath of operation Market Garden.

The marking is stamped on the box, I'll take some photo's tonight and will post them here. Thanks for the info so far!

My g/f grandpa who died recently had an old ammunition box on his attic which I now have. It's all metal and got a triangel on it and the markings C 238 1 1941 on it. Grandpa most probably found it on his land, he lived in Veghel and there was some firece fighting going on there during operation Market Garden.
Could this box be used in WWII and if so, what would have been in it?
This is what the box looks like:

We had our share of rain but the sun showed itself every now and then which made it bearable. The wind however was appaling but it was all worth it, had the best day I could imagine!

Yesterday I took the Dodge for a drive and suddenly the headlights were working again. Not entirely the way they should, the left was very dim but the right was working perfectly. Very od...

Last weekend I was in the ardennes and in Spa I saw an old Willys jeep in a new function, towing a large trailer with tourists! They look a lot better in green if you ask me..
Some other interesting photo's:
Tiger II at La Gleize:
Halftrack in Stavelot:
Notice the interesting markings:
Memorial for citizens of Stavelot who were murderded by a German SS division for no reason at all:

Absolutely stunning truck! Well worth all the effort if you ask me.

I don't have kids yet but my g/f wants nothing to do with it....

Seems like you've had a busy weekend! I was in the ardennes so did nothing on my Dodge.
Btw, what's that tracked vehicle on the left side of your trailer?
-
Wow, it's been a busy weekend for you!

The photo's I took were of the brake light assembly, so I rather misjudged that. Now I'm going to mail the former owner, see if he still remembers..
