  1. Well that's thrown down the gauntlet :cool2:

I actually prefer the Wynns cabs- but I'm strange.

Being a happy muppet is, of course, the important thing. And your DT is a very impressive restoration and somewhat more satisfying than buying one "off the shelf" I suspect!

  2. I Concur. Being a bit of a puritan I don't like most of the cab conversions, so much so that when 3630DW came up for sale year before I bought mine I resisted simply down to the horrible cab. it would have been much cheaper and less work as it was fully restored but not sorry though, I am more than happy with mine, even with all the work involved. That to me is the fun part.

We were talking about that today funny enough, came to the conclusion that you are a muppet :-D

  3. Good work. I and others will be in Plymouth city centre on Saturday, 6 vehicles at the momment and about 15 collectors.

I shall tell my young lady to look out for you (she can hardly miss you lot...) then, she's still at uni there. Whereabouts will you be?

If you see a little lass with (probably) short blue hair, say hello!

  4. I'd be quite happy to find a Matador lurking in a nice, dry barn somewhere just waiting for someone to come along and give it a clean, change the oil and charge the battery and take it to some shows.

I do know of a (non military) Land Rover S2 109" recovery truck that was restored in the 80's then hidden away in a small shed for years, where it still is now. That was a nice find, but I cheated a bit as it belongs to a friend's Uncle!

  5. We have quite a lot of younger members looking for their first MV.

    You called?

I'd love an MV- specifically, something big and lorry- ish, but it's the cost issue that's putting that idea on the back burner- for now.

I've just turned 22; so plenty of time for me to save my pennies and buy a toy in the future.

I can however vouch that teenage (ish) girlies like old Land Rovers- so long as the sun's out!

  6. A nice Hotchkiss (had a name on the bulkhead but I've forgotten it!) and an equally nice (and very lovely sounding) Champ and Land Rover series 2 FFR which turned up together at Kingswood village show yesterday. Anyone on here?

  7. Having read the entire thread, but based entirely on Mark's post above... I wanna go next year:D

    Sounds fantastic.

Is there any provision for someone without an MV () to come and camp? I assume not, judging by the lucky dip the camping seems to be, but thought I'd ask.

I'll just have to stowaway in the back of a Jimmy or something instead!
