  9. the photos are from october 2006 i email the guy who took them he had a look yesterday 21/1/10 and it was gone, the farmer who has the field said the army took it away within the last 2 years and it was all going to be scraped there was other military stuff in the field aswell and the army took it all away.
  10. anyone know anything about this x irish ford a/c in a field in wales {maybe the one that went to grange cavern museum in the 70s} word has it that it was taking away by army personal in 2008

  13. this is from a 1996 railway book that i have it quotes an earlier 1974 magazine
  14. anybody that has interest in armoured vehicles use in ireland 1916-1923 will recognize these photos the daimler flat bed lorry owned by guinness brewery that was improvised into an armoured car in april 1916 these photo are all over the net and books... it looks like photos 1,2,3 are a different vehicle to photo 4 id welcome a secound opinion..

  16. i have an interest in the armoured cars, an old magazine that i have about irish armoured cars said there was a number of jeffery quads in ireland up till 1920 but i have never seen a photo of one or referance in any books/magazine about that part of irish history.
  17. ahhh the poor thing,, 3 ford mk 6s went to GB after a irish army auction in the early 70s one went to wales (grange cavern museum) that mite be it,, im not sure but i think the museum did close.
  18. is there not one of the l180 in cork {private owner} he got it from the curragh as a restoration project i belive it was in a bad way with noth left on it i think it had been use to keep the rest of them running. this photo was a good fue years before it was sold.
