Here in Holland we have the WW2 commemorations (Arnhem etc.)
Offcourse also weekends and rally's organised by MV clubs

This topic comes from another forum but I feel its equally relevant here as if it were not for the people now in need of support we would not be free and enjoying the hobby we do:Abuse of the Elderly, Show your Support
It costs nothing, just register by following this link:
Help the Aged http://www.iwill.co.uk/
They are trying to get 25000 signatures and as of writing have about 17500.
Instances include an old man of 85 (ish) attacked in his own home. He was an ex-para who served during WW2 (Arnhem). The lowlifes nicked his medals."
Effectively this is an on-line petition to get, amongst other things, those who care for the eldery to be regiatered. Doesn't cost anything but a minute or so of your time amd I believe we all owe those affected a lot more than that!!
A veteran attacked and his medals stolen???
Shoot the bastards I say!!! -Lest we forget.-
I signed.

Prime minister of Wales.
For the 60th commemoration of the liberation of 's-Hertogenbosch we went to the Uden cemetary.
I just walked up to him and shook his hand, nice man.
My brother and me are members of the October 1944 Comitte and attended in original 53rd Div. uniforms.

Did anyone else see Timewatch last Friday? it was following the work of the US Army's MIA team who work to locate and identify the remains of American MIA's from all wars. last week it was about WW1,tonight it's Vietnam.
These guys do a great job,too bad us Brits are not as pro-active in locating and bringing home our own missing.
Matt.
Didn't see it.
Near where I live on a old Fortress site are still 2 boys from the 43rd Recce's missing.
Restaurations on the site have started but no serios attempt to find them.
If they were US there would have been a professional team working there long ago.
For info see the site
I know via email 1 of the survivors of the patrol.

I maybe stupid, but......
Are you allowed to carry people in the back of your Dodge or GMC when drive on public roads?
In the Netherlands it's forbidden, people may only be carried on seats specially installed for the transportation of persons. Benches in the back of my Dodge WC51 do not count as such
Yet another reason for me to want to buy a Command Car...

Hi Enigma,
It seems you like Saxon quite a bit then, one of my favorites is 747 Strangers in the Night.
Cheers, Mick.
Hi Mick
Yes I do like Saxon.
I spoke to Biff and Paul back in the 90's outside their dressingroom at the Dynamo Open Air festival in Holland.
Very symphathetic guys!

Hi Cara
Wellcome.
I use photobucket.
After uploading the image copy the 3rd box with inamge and paste into the message.
Be sure the "disable BBcode in this post" is blank otherwise the pic won't show.

Didn't see shit...

It looked way to new to me.
Some times you need to read what is not written, they don't lie but don't give the complete truth either.
We buy lots on auction sites so know most of the tricks and still get shafted sometimes...

PM send, thanks!

And thus, the plot thickens...... :?:

Hi Matt
It is the one from ebay.
When it didn't sell I mediated to get the seller and the interested party in contact with each other.
The buyer is a good friend of mine.
The main thing is info about the rear since the one on it now isn't the correct one (?).
I've found some photo's of civilian types but would really like to find Army specs and photo's, maybe even a manual if it exists?
Also general info is wellcome like where, by which division and dates of use in wellcome.
Thanks!!

Hi
Who's got photo's, blueprints or anything at all about this type of Dodge?
A friend has one and needs all available info out there.

That's bad luck.
About the fuelgauge; was it stuck or does it go to full the moment you turn on the electrics?
Also reading the electrical problems you had it looks like the electric troubles were also to blame for the fuel gauge.
Don't know very much about electrics though.

To avoid scratching metal to metal I use innertube rubber from bicycles and Dodges.
Shovel covers in war don't make sense.
You'd need to get the cover off, dig and put cover back on, too much hassle.
And they weren't worried about schratching the paint with granades and bullets flying around!!!

My Dodge is sitting outside under a Tarp.
I live next to the riverdyke and behind the houses is a sort of cul de sac where only residents and visitors park.
Not ideal because to go for a drive I need to remove the tarp and the ponchos which protect the paint from the chaving of the tarp.
A garage would be cool cause its get in, drive, park and shut the door.
Also returning in the rain would be less of a problem.
With the tarp a spontanious drive is to much hassle.
We do drive summer and winter; without a top.

A Buffalo?
VERY interested to see pics.
The Dutch Princess Irene Brigade were ferried across the river Maas in 1945 by Buffalo's!

I did my restauration outside and behind a row of houses so it was unavoidable people came to talk when they saw me slaving away.
Putting on a worried face and some loud Heavy Metal does scare of some of them as does whacking a piece of iron looking like a lunatic swearing every foul word in the book.

Thanks for letting a Texan meander around your site.
You're Texan, most from the UK and me from the Netherlands.
The forum is getting global.
