Does anyone know if the Drops vehicles being disposed of currently will leagaly and practically lift and carry a fv432?
I think our 432 weighs in at 14t, which is within the figure of 15t I have seen written that these will lift and carry. But I was wondering if this is practicle, and the weight would be down the sides of the lifting rack rather thsn spread across the base.
I have seen cvrt vehicles but their weight is considerably less than the 432!!

Just been looking at the Withams site. If you look at the auctions they run themselves, go to the ferret auction. In the background of pic2 there are 2 tanks. They look to me like Chieftain gun tanks, but 1 has an unusual turret.
No mention on their website of them, Maybe in next tender??

okay I have stalwart number two, she looks too good to break up so i think she is going to become a bit of a project...got to find me another old tatty stolly to use as the off road toy, maybe a mark 1...will post picces tiomorrow so we have a before and after record...this is going to be fun..she is going to become a sand version first...maybe with a diesel engine for fun..maybe not...
neil no brakes
including handbrake.
steering okay without power..engine hoepfully will be started in the next week or so...so loads of work to do...
If you are looking for another stolly, it may be worth trying Nick Mead at tanks a lot, he has several, maybe 10 standing in a line! tried to take a pic at the weekend, but my camera gave up.

Hi all,
I have a MK 1/2 FV432. I have an oil leak from the centre of the final drive on the near side. It appears to be comming from around the rear of the large castlated nut. Does anybody know if I tighten this nut is it likely to cure the leak, or do I need to strip it down and replace oil seals??
Thanks
Barry

Hi Robin,
I run a Mk 1 432. We've had it about a year now with no problems at all. You have to bear in mind as its a petrol engine you will have plugs points etc. which need to be serviced and checked regularly, as well as the oil changes etc. The parts are still available but due to the nature of the B series engines relaiability is generally very good.
