  1. I'll look out for you on the 6 Oclock slot. Its about time someone has taken some interest in the Hall and I can't understand why Lincs council has not done anything. I'm told that there is some sort of tunnel from the old hall to the RAf buildings' how true this is i'm not sure.

I noticed the last time I was walking the dog that the gates had been forced open to the RAF site, and looked like people stripping out the wiring and lights and other bits.

If your in the area give us a call. contact details on my website.

  2. yes. its not in the uk.

It was built as a bridging Vehicle for india. It was the prototype and I beleave some more were built under licence in india, but how many i don't know. This vehicle was 55ft long x3.5m wide and great fun. If I am correct

in saying I think this is the only 12x8 ever built in the uk.

  4. Alvis closed Unipower in August 2000 moving the production of the Unipower RIV 4x4 to Telford. There are a couple of engineers from unipower still working there. When the production of the RIV finished

Alvis decided they didn't wont to build wheeled vehicles any more so that was that.

I understand that the Telford site is due to close at the end of this year.

If there is any info regarding the Unipower vehicles built at Watford give me a shout, If I can help I will.

  5. Hi Nick.

The Pinzgauer in the photo is a 718 T with a bespoke box body that, as it happens, was designed and fitted by Dytecna a long while ago - for a requirement known as MAPPS. I'm not sure what the purpose of the vehicle was (probably communications of some sort). It would have been built in Austria by Steyr and is probably getting on for 10 years old and is fitted with a water-cooled 6-cylinder 2382cc, turbo-charged engine, probably with a ZF HP22 auto gearbox, or possibly a ZF 5-18/3 manual. Auto is more likely.

I'm informed that the bodies have been removed and MoD are considering converting them to general service vehicles - traditionally fitted with a canvas cover over the load compartment. It would have left the factory looking like an open backed pickup.

Hope this is of some help.

  6. If anyone is interested in these hoses you can contact me on my website protruckservices@gmail.com

The supplier of the hoses would normally deal only with vehicle manufacturers in quantities of 100s, but if there is enough interest for these I could possibly get a very favourable price from him on a small quantity as the owner is a personal friend of mine.

  7. Hi Paul. I have some £70,000 worth of snap-on kit. and had some of them for many years, and they are as good as new. I also have some Britool tools well worth the money, but I mainly have the impact sockets which are a bit stronger than the standard sockets (maybe worth thinking about) hope this helps.

    Clive.
