yes they are phoenix caissons made up outer harbours at normandy 54 where planned for omaha and 108 for the british at arromanches it took 20,000 men and 660,000 tons of concrete to construct. the ones it seems got left behind spung leaks .

hi i have a 83 6.2 ex usaf blazer had it about ten years got a couple of friends with same and pick ups.never had any problems getting parts normaly from american auto parts run of mill stuff comes next day.last year i did 20000 miles between mots and had one uj fail so i recon they are good strong reliable trucks which laugh in the face of series landrovers of same era when it comes to power comfort and looks.

this was our last day so we had to this .started out at 15.00 and back at 18.00 we had bit of numb bums but well worth the paddle.wanted to do this in 1979 on mvcg tour when i was 11 its taken 31 years to do it and it was my fiance idea to go back and kayak the beaches after bringing her here 5 years ago.

great shots again.we shot down to see it last evening 7.30 at dusk saw a fully loaded huge container ship pass behind it and could only see the roof of the bridge.we also saw the no 71 light up.

well done didnt think it would take long to see it .it was to dark for photos when we finished the other evening. i think they where saying that the tank wiil be the center to a roundabout when they have finished digging around for new entrance.

looking at the ebay link and talking to my father confirms i think what i said its whats left of his chevy 4x4 15cwt 12 cab there was no data plate on winch to identify it and also the rear cross member is made up from a piece of channel of a seddon atkinson !.he also sold it to a guy in OXFORD .I think the guy who is selling it now brought it of the guy my father sold it to who did what he said he was going to and have it spares.
