Wouw, and it is a Holmes! I think the same one again on 10.23:nut::nut:
Hendrik
Hi Hendrik,
Yes looks like the same one, especially as it has the large storage box on the roof

Vehicles at the new REME Museum are BARV, Bedford QL Machinery, BSA M20, Churchill ARV, Commer Q4, CRRAVV, CVRT Samson, FV434, Halftrack repair, Matchless G3L, Morris Commercial Breakdown, Scammell, Scout Helicopter, ST4 Aktiv, Western Star. Some were on display at Arborfield, while others are from the store at Bordon.
Hi Robert,
Have they ditched the Chevrolet C60S Wrecker that used to be at Arborfield? Glad I went and photographed it in detail.

Thanks Pete,
Very good warning. Failures seem to have been in lucky circumstances so far.

Hi Andy,
Hub spanner worked ok then?
Are you hoping to get it going for Blindley Heath Show at end of month?

Hi
Picked up the water bowser trailer today (a long long drive) using a small car transporter
It has the hand pumping and power pumping plates in the rear and the tank is not in bad shape, will have to decide which tank I end up using. The trailer will come in handy to move the bowser around so it can be worked on independently. The trailer chassis is interesting look like a cut down bit of chassis (possibly a Morris)
Excellent. Am sure Janet and John were also pleased to see it go to a good home.

One big problem :-( , top leaf of Off Side Spring broken on the edge of the spring saddle. I haven’t stripped the springs so others may be cracked/broken

Richard:I have used, and would recommend Jones Springs in Darlaston. Lots of experience and interested in older vehicles:

Hi all, does anyone have a picture of the inside of the draw bar channel, I'm making one for my trailer but I'm not too sure how the hand brake ratchet plate attaches on the inside??
Dave
Dave,
A difficult part to photograph. Only one of any use is attached, from 100's of photos I have.
Do you have the ratchet plate? I have a short section of chassis rail for sale from a scapped trailer, with plate still attached So perfect to copy and re-use the plate.

Good to see with correct rear hitch

Hi Ian
Lots of good original parts on this one. Interesting to see where the side lights had been fitted, as that possibly explains what those vertical steel straps were originally designed for.
The trailer was built by Reliance (who had contract this S4833 for 10cwt G/S trailers).
Believe that X numbers between 5443370 and 5443469.
I have a spare set of trailer wings in very good condition, if you are interested.

Hello. How much do you think your friend would want for the tank? Regards John.
I saw this tank when I went to collect another item I had bought from on Ebay.
The ebay seller said he was thinking of about £200 for the complete tank (mounted on an agric trailer chassis). He knows what it is, but would like to see it used again...so may be open to offers.
If anyone is interested, please PM me with your contact phone number and I will forward to him.

Hi Richard
I know where there is a spare tank, with doors, available for sale in Norfolk. They also has a set of brass instruction plates still fitted to the rear doors. PM me if you are interested and I will put you in touch with the owner.
Cheers
Richard,
You didnt reply or comment.
So I take it you have rear doors and brass instruction plates?
These are what I am referring to, and are located in West Norfolk/Suffolk border. Ideally the owner wants to sell whole tank, but you may be able to just buy the doors:

The new broom is already in use on Issue 189!
189? As someone who subscribed from the launch in June 2001 until earlier this year, when I cancelled subscription as I had finally given up hope of it improving, I will we be looking out for the February 2017 edition.
I enjoyed the way Windscreeen changed, and know CMV is different, but good luck with the new role.

What about the red fire pump trailers with Coventry Climax pumps running behind the Austin aux fire service trucks?
I'm sure they were 6 stud, and that I had obtained a couple to replace identical tyres and rims but with 3 holes for an old 3 stud Benford dumper steering axle.
These rims must have been pressed out with 3,4,5 and 6 holes for so many applications!
Also used on slave battery starter trailers by RAF, but they might have been 3 stud.
They look similar rims but 3-stud on Coventry Climax Fire trailers

As in the above pics, Series E Morris 8 have 6 stud 17" wheels
/QUOTE]
Thanks Nick - know anyone with a Morris 8 who might need two spares?
