  1. You're right Lex. These are galvanized spokes and nickel nipples to the civilian version. For the military version I painted the sandblasted spokes and nipples like in the photos. Best regards Pawel
  2. Hi Andy, I rebuilt my wheels using spokes from CWC (warren@central-wheel.co.uk). I left the rims old. The dimensions of the spokes are given below (chrom & nickel for civilian version): FRONT WHEEL galvanised spokes G= 10 Gauge of spoke = 3,2 mm - lenght 7 ½” = 190,5 mm, Angle 78 degree -10 pcs - lenght 7 ½” = 190,5 mm, Angle 99 degree -10 pcs - lenght 8 7/8” = 225,4 mm, Angle 78 degree -10 pcs - lenght 8 7/8” = 225,4 mm, Angle 99 degree -10 pcs - Nipples nickel plated brass Barrel = 0,300” G= 10 Gauge -40pcs REAR WHEEL galvanized spokes G=9 Gauge of spoke = 3,6 mm. - lenght 8 ¾” = 222,25 mm, Angle 76 degree -10 pcs - lenght 8 ¾” = 222,25 mm, Angle 100 degree -10 pcs - lenght 9” = 228,6 mm, Angle 76 degree -10 pcs - lenght 9” = 228,6 mm, Angle 100 degree -10 pcs - Nipples nickel plated brass Barrel = 0,300” G= 9 Gauge -40 pcs The offset will come out by themselves. First, set the rear hub so that the rear sprocket and sprocket (gearbox) are in one plane. And the rim should be in the axis of the frame. Best regards Pawel

  7. Hi, Very nice art, this NSU. It has original rear tool boxes and a head lamp (cone). In my bike, unfortunately, the cases are modern copies in a '37 version and the lamp has been replaced by a newer Bosch version. The valve springs are also changed. Mine was sold in 1935 to Czechoslovakia to Brno. Why did you do in Wermacht gray? In 1935, these were the civilian versions. If you need a part, write it, maybe me or my colleagues will. Thanks for your opinion on Lodz. Although I know prettier cities in Poland. 😉 It is said to be the Polish Manchester. It also expanded in the 19th century thanks to the textile industry.   8. Hi, The motorcycle season has ended recently in my city of Łódź. There were about 2,000 motorcycles in the 2ha car park. Unfortunately, without my Triumph 3SW. I showed my 1935 NSU OSL 500.   10. Hi, Unfortunately, the 2x Triumph project had to be stopped. A friend who helped me assemble the bike did it very badly. I had to pick up. After unfolding the motorcycle, it turned out why nothing fits. The rear of the frame is shifted to the right 21mm. I have to straighten the crooked back part of the frame.   14. I admire the enormous amount of work. I meant were the springs spiral? Mine should be flat (?) but cracked and replaced with a newer spiral model.

  17. While working with the Triumph fuel system, I reconstructed the fuel pipes in my NSU 501OSL and Quick to their original condition. The big NSU lights up and works. There is a problem with gear shifting (adjustment). Quick needs a little more work. Regards Pawel

  22. Hi, The breather nozzle in sleev nut was missing from the engine. Probably some genius mechanic had decided that it was unnecessary earlier. Fortunately in the parts that were left over after the renovation from 1987of the civilian version. My dad gave me new parts and I hid the old ones. Fortunately, he made two diaphragms. Today, the old nut and the new diaphragm have found their place in the engine for the military version. Works perfectly as a one-way valve. Regards Paul.
  23. Hi, Brian is a good idea if he writes back. Unfortunately, valve collars from Zundapp was not a good idea. After folding, it turned out that the valve springs are not compressed enough. I made technical drawings and commissioned collars and split cotter to be made in small series. The split cotter have been hardened. IN its old, original. EX its new. After folding, everything fits.   25. Another problem arose when assembling the engine. The diaphragm (E1469) is missing in the crankcase breather. I don't know how it is constructed or what it looks like. Is this sleeve in the middle of the body (E1466) a plug (E1464)? Do you have better photos of these items? Parts from mine in the photo. Regards. Pawel
