I could not agree more regarding fuel economy and military vehicles, good suggestion regarding the quad - I wrongly though that you needed a motorbike license to ride a quad on UK roads - it turns out a car license suffices.

Hello,
I wasn't looking at the Dunsfold one in particular. It was just a query regarding the vehicle in general. They seem like a very sound useful vehicle, and likely a great deal more economical than other military vehicles.
You own something similar don't you R? What are your experiences with the vehicle?
Cheers,
Joel

Welcome,
There are a fair number of enthusiasts from Dorset around here - even the fearless leader.

Dear Community,
What license is required to drive a Supacat (MK3) on the road in the UK?
Does anyone have one road-registered in the UK?
Many Thanks,
Joel

A couple of my cohorts were speaking to the Sexton owner- who seemed to know me (but wasn't sure who it was).

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't there a second modernised vehicle that had suffered an explosion at one stage?
On the subject of modern vehicles a Jackal frame was also disposed via Withams.

Found this information here.
The official international speed record for the World's Fastest Tank has recently been set by a CVR(T) Scorpion Tank upgraded to the latest S 2000 Peacekeeper standard by Repaircraft. Timed by the British police and MMST and witnessed by the Guiness Book of Records, a standard production S 2000 raced its way into the record books at an average speed of 82.23 kph. (51 mph)held since 2002

That hits the water with a great deal of force, how tough are the windows on Stalwarts?

I had only read bits and pieces of this thread until someone dredged it up - it looks very good. I am currently surfing the web trying to find a video of the finished article (with tracks).
Not sure that the British health and safety would see the wooden pallets as sufficient - I hope they have been inspected and certificated :-D

Hello,
Try open the .TIF document with Paint - Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint.
Then try saving that as a .JPG file - that should work - I am sure paint supports TIF's.

Hello Community,
Does anyone happen to have a copy of an AMX-30 Manual?

The last few times I have been roughing it I have ended up sleeping in the passenger seat of my car :-)

An interesting insight into the world of Military Driver Training.

Just thought I could shed a little light onto the situation:
Surviving exemplars From WikipediaToday eleven vehicles survive, one Char B1 and ten Char B1 bis.[3]
The last surviving Char B1 can be seen at the "Association pour la Sauvegarde du Patrimoine Historique et Militaire" (ASPHM), near Strasbourg, in France. It was previously at the Fort de Seclin. It is in a bad condition, with parts like the main gun missing. It was salvaged from a firing range, but will be restored by the owner. Ten Char B1 bis can be seen in various places in Great Britain and in France :
- A vehicle at the Bovington Tank Museum, England. It was modified for German service as the B2 variant.
- Three are in the Musée des Blindés in Saumur, France. One, Flandres, is in running condition, another, Rhône, is in permanent display in the museum. A third, a mine roller tank, is in storage.
- A vehicle serving as a monument in the town of Stonne, France, where during the Battle of France 3 DCR fought with 10 PD.
- Three are owned by the ASPHM, which bought one of them at the same time as the B1, from the Fort de Seclin. This B1 bis is also in a bad condition, with parts, including the main gun, missing. Salvaged from a firing range, it is intended for restoration by the owner. The two others were acquired in 2009 and are very badly damaged.[4] They will most likely be used as "organ donors" in order to restore the B1 and one of the B1 bis. One of the two B1 bis wrecks was identified as being n° 243 Intrépide, which belonged to 8th BCC and was put out of combat on 1 June 1940, at Moreuil.[5]
- Two are on display at the 501st-503rd Tank Regiment at Mourmelon-le-Grand, France. One of these tanks was previously on display at the ERGMEB, Gien.
However, there is a:
Hotchkiss H 39 – Kevin Wheatcroft Collection (UK) - A vehicle at the Bovington Tank Museum, England. It was modified for German service as the B2 variant.
-
The WW1 tanks.
Dangerous enough to drive let alone to fight in.
I had the opportunity to go inside the MK5 one of the last times it was moved - what an experience.

Let me kick us off, my favourite "items" in the museums collection have to be their Leopard Tanks, the Leopard is a well designed vehicle and is excellent to operate.

A very well put together and informative video - nice to see the progress on the Tiger.

Cheers Steve,
I shall measure the post tomorrow, that RS component looks promising. However, it would need to be bent over at right angles because of the limited space in the electrical box.
Edit: Yes they are T shapes.

Really interesting photos,
The poor chaps had Marmon-Herrington armoured cars, can anyone identify what model of Marmon-Herrington that is? (on the first photo).

Hello Andy,
I am trying to either find the name of the crimp connectors (or a part number) or find a source where I can purchase them.
I am undertaking a large scale re-wiring mission, soldering them seems a bit of a bodge-job and creating new PCB's is far too time consuming.
Cheers,

Right so here we go:
This is a lead that connects to a clansman headset, I need to identify the crimp connectors on the end of these wires (Orange, Green & Blue).

Supacat MK3 - License requirements?
in I may be stupid, but......
Posted
Note: I was wrong about the license - you just need to check for category B1 on the back of your license.
