Standard ignition switch not a key type   ignition light obviously shows when switch is activated and goes off after starting .

Hi Chris   its as if the battery is flat  doesn't even crank,  so i checked the battery it's good but charged it anyway and hey presto she starts,  this only happens after a  run, say 2 or 3 miles. Once fully charged turns over fine. 

I don't think it's something i would attempt myself,  like i say i can the jeep out come back and it's dead not enough to turn over almost as if it's being drained whilst being driven,  battery is good,  alternator as new

Thanks,  could this also be the source of no power. 

Yeah earth is good,  alternator is pretty much new  harness all new baffling really and frustrating too probably something really simple. 

Never seen this done Chris or any idea how to do it tbh. It seems after a drive its turned off and shows no power on the ignition ligt.

No bud   and to honest wouldn't have a clue, pretty sure its a loose connection somewhere. 

Yes i disconnected it whilst checking , just a safety precaution 

Right fully charged battery which wasn't flat, checked all connections only one was hand tight which went to the alternator all others ok, one slightly loose on th coil  kicked it in the nuts and it fired up fine,  noticed red ignition light stays on when in initial tick over, attached a few pics to see if anything obvious pops up 

Not found anything yet  going to check foot starter connections is this easy enough with the engine in? Also read that there a connection behind voltage clock which is prone to coming loose. 

Thanks ill check it, the fact there is no power at all one minute and starts the next points to a connection failure somewhere.  The main earth from the battery looks fine so i will have to follow the positive cable through and see if anything pops up.

Thanks Steve im going to start with the starter switch,  last time when this happened i pushed it by hand and it fired up, however Jerry put me a ignition light on the main switch which  shows nothing,  one of the two. 

Problem is still there, went to collect the old girl from my daughters started and ran fine, got home parked on drive,  went back to move it again and nothing,  no turnover no ignition light nothing had to roll it in we know the battery is good i need to sort this out asap.

Looking to re create the german helmet and gas mask that was on the front of the sherman tank in Fury for my jeep,  anyone done it?

Absolutely Steve,  always enjoy seeing your pics and adventures, hopefully this year I can put quite a few miles on it, get to know it properly etc, I do still have to finish paint, stencils then done. Really hoping to get her to woodhall spa in July.

Hi bud with it being somewhat buried in my daughter's garage over winter I've not revved it up due to excessive fumes which somehow make there way through to her house. 

Ahh bloody hell had positive reader cable on negative battery terminal with the look of it, what a plank. 

Been up today had the MB running at idle,  what is the minus sign on the reading
