i am pleased to say i have orderd the mian of the bearings from chrisg, he was very helpful so in the next few weeks i will be able to show a few pics of the bearing being changed weather permitting :-D

not to much just the lenth and the size you will need about 2m long and the folds are about 30mmx30mm had one price to get this folded £30 for two folds:argh::argh:

i was once told that a highwayman rear axle has the same diff ect as the front exploer axle is this true?:??? i haved to admit the centre of the axle casing looks similar.

yes i bet ,it was a chalk pit that was used as a tip then capped hence verey soft ground then we were told it was a ssi .

first it was the martian with trailer,then the two scammells at the front .they were trying to get her out .and then me at the back trying to get the trailer so they had somwehere to sleep.these photos were taken in the morning .we got stuck at night 12.30 in the dark,would of been wors if land owner had not turned up and said stop .IT VEREY DECEPTIVE IN THE DARK

my mate said he was verey lucky to get his, but he did not write down the numbers of the new ones ,as he hopes he will never have to do it again. also he likes the forum as every one tries to help. sadly his computer is broken but he now has enthusiasm to get it fixed an join in on the dialogue:yay:

S H N1090 is on the inner , Hoffmann THRUST 545ACD ENGLAND on outer part ( i need 2 of these )
front axle
R380 is on the inner ,Hoffmann R360 ENGLAND on outer part

the bearing is for the front axle the number is from the scammell 6x6 parts book, ball bearing bevel pinion the number is in a collum marked M.T. or Proprietary part No. (MT7/1960) and then underneath it says Hoffmann N1090 .i hope this helps:-D

thank you no i have not . i tried express bearing , did not know the numbers. left it with them but still could not help very good at selling me stuff of the shelve though oil grease ect.:???

all the info i got out of the scammell parts book contract No 6/VEHS/3724/CB.27(A). sorry to say not mine on loan. nice clean book, such good drawings. i would liked to of photo copied it but told it is dodgy due to copy write :-( .

If its hub bearings you're looking for I don't think they are cheap
are you ready there is a lot and from what i have been told they are
B----Y expensive if you can get them.

Why not clean it all up , chrome it and have it as a piece of art in the garden ! Call it the "Angel of Watford" !:-D I have been admiring the spring hangers on Daisy today ! No paint makes you realise what a thing of beauty she is underneath ! :-D

need help
i am trying to get the rev counter to work.i have fitted a rolls 265 to no nuts from an ERF ,i took out the electronic rev counter and grafted it into another set of clocks and then fitted them. i did not take much notice of the wiring as i thought it went to the alternater,(it does not) there is a censor on the clutch housing? there is 3 wires coming out of rev counter, can you help ?:confused:
