  1. Hi,

Simon Stolly suggested to me that you may either have, or know someone who might have a second hand turbo for a Perkins Eagle TX 340. The one I am looking for is a side mounted version. I have the identification numbers at work if you think you may have one. Many thanks, Will.

  2. Hello CX 22 owner,

welcome to the forum and, you are more welcome still being an Albion owner. As you probably know, I own a WD HD 23S. Albion owners are a bit thin on the ground on the forum. I think there may be four of us now.

I hope you can find the time to post up as much information and as many pictures as possible about your truck. I also have a yearning for a CX22 as they are a really great looking truck for the era they were manufactured in.

As an Albion owner, I will add you to my friends list and hope that at some stage you will do the same for me. Us Albion owners have to stick together.

Hope to hear from you soon, Will.

  3. Hello Davie,

Many thanks for the reply to my message. I'm really looking forward to seeing all your pictures. It's such a shame that they were lost from the forum, as having to scan them is a real pain in the butt.

I too am on holiday from the 6th? of April for a week and should have an uninterrupted week on the Albion.

I had a bit of luck this morning. I have been talking to the scrap man who comes to our yard, explaining to him that I need some good quality steel sheet for my cab restoration. He told me about a one man band that does top quality restorations and has his business not far from where I live. He has a source for good quality steel and wont use rubbish. I also told him that my biggest problem was where to get some new outer front wings made, and Lenny told me he does that too.

I can hardly wait to see your pictures and Blog, and hope you make good progress in the time you have available.

Take care and good luck, Will.

  4. Hi,

glad to hear you are ok. Sorry to hear about your car. Have you thought of speaking to a dedicated independent auto electrician about the problem. Cars of that age have fairly simple wiring looms and a repair shouldn't be that difficult or particularly expensive. Surely the car must be worth it bearing in mind the fairly high price you paid for it.

Oh an' good luck with your family history. Hope nuffink nasty crawls out of the woodwork......if you know what I mean.

Catch ya later an' take care, Will.

  5. Hi,

Just a sort message to find out if you are ok. Haven't seen you on here for a while and hoped you haven't passed on or something. If you have; then it would explain why you haven't been on here much lately.

I don't know whether you've had time to look in, but I have been busy stripping my donor truck and deciding which course of action I will take, and which parts will have to be replaced or restored.

Again, I hope everything is ok with you, and look forward to hearing from you sometime. Will.

  6. Hi Andy,

Just to let you know that I have gladly added you to my friends list. Reading about your restoration and getting to see the pictures is an inspiration to me. Something that also makes it all the more interesting is the fact that it obviously spent quite a few years living not too far away from me.

Your Scammell looks to be very original and trouble free, with the exception of the "Scabby Cab" syndrome. Are you going to make a new frame for the cab, or have it all sandblasted? I'm looking forward to seeing more progress, and waiting for the swearing to start when you start putting all the wiring back in.

I'm hoping to get some hours in on my Albion this weekend, and I hope also to get some pictures up on the forum on Sunday, just to prove that I am getting on with it.

I look forward to seeing more of your posts and pictures.

    Cheers! Will.
