No problem David, I plan to strip mine down next month and start planning what parts I need etc. I will keep in touch, Ian west has gone a load of new made valve springs and some valves available I believe.

I will move on one of my engines once I have got a good one complete and up and running.

Work finally started on the Morris stripping out the hill and removing all the cooling system .

Been a very time consuming process as Morris in their wisdom did not use any caged nuts on any if the internal panels and the access is near on impossible to the backsides!

Also picked up a spare engine with water pump and NOS side draught carb.

We decided to do something different with the Bedford and knock up some half doors for the summer days out.

this maybe useful for you.

My 1940 OXC was in service until 1966.

The lights had been upgraded at some point to accommodate full lighting with convoy lights etc. the rear lights are mounted using 432 front side light brackets!

It also has the vacuum tank for the wipers.

If he has the original cylinders they can be sleeved and rebuilt, I use past parts for my cylinders and have them stainless steel sleeved with all new rubber seals and dust covers.

Take someone with you to view jeeps, even pay a professional to come with you, it will pay off in the long run. Sadly i have seen too may people who have been misled as to what they were buying and to the true condition of it under the paint.

Jeeps are a fantastic vehicles and so much fun to drive and tinker with, but they can also me an absolute minefield.

M12 x 1.5 is quite an unusual thread, particularly for brake hoses, the ones I had made were about £20 each from past parts.

Past parts can make them, I had some made for a 1938 Mercedes a while ago.

yes it is, its a massive place, mostly pre WW1 military history, going back to Byzantium times. A whole area dedicated to the Dardanelles campaign of course. Worth a visit if your in the area.

It was a Morris, but alas not there anymore.

It is still there, i tried to buy it last year but the price was ridiculous, particularly as it is it a really bad way, even the armoured plate has rusted away in many places. Shame really as there were some useful bits on it that i need for mine.

This may have been posted before, superb colour film of Lancaster's and some unusual British vehicles.But i noticed at 32 minutes and 20 seconds there is a Morris LRC painted yellow with no turret?! i know RAF had a few of them for airfield security but this is strange.

early OX/OY's had these fitted, not sure about MW though?, i think they changed to the bigger ones is 43?.

My Bedford is 1940 and has this style fitted.
