Don't worry Paul if you look back on some of the old MOs there have been similar traps that have caught the unsuspecting;) Anyway this MO has not been concluded yet

Yes can you pass it on to Richard please? But often the person who makes the major breakthrough can lose the momentum when everyone else starts focussing on the nearly identified object. I'll put a little resume of how it worked up tomorrow.

Very well observed Alec Yes there are indeed 18 hydraulic rams that do provide a clamping mechanism. So you are 80% there! So what does it clamp & for what purpose?

This can be used to make MO 128 function, although that has its own dedicated equipment. This could be used but can have other uses as well.

Ah another old MO regular! Yes I suppose it can have that connection but it also connects with non artillery things as well.
