Some brill photos,have been to the Lincs.aviation centre a couple of times last year and spoke to one of the two brothers,

he told me that they were out bid at Blackpool but later bought the Lancaster when it had been used as a gate guardian.

They also plan to get it flying again.

That looks as though it is the cockpit fuselage area of a P38.

Long nose with no engine and gun ports. wings appear to be up against the cockpit.

I have seen elsewhere that one was scrapped in this yard in 1960

this came from the yard ,but was scrapped

they scrapped a P38 lightening in august 1960 (just found this info ,but no other pics)

Following a topic on another forum , and some members have mentioned playing in shermans as kids , but they were later buried , they also remember seeing dukws and aircraft , would anyone have any pics of yards / fields etc in the Fylde area ? or even pics of places they don't know the location? South shore demolition was mentioned as a company name ...........

Mine has one too... its called a leichtcruz (light cross) they fitted the same type as ours as night time convoy lights to all bundeswehr vehicles ... even Tanks!!!

after the usual jumping through DVLA hoops..i was worried that the local dvla office closures would complicate everything trying to obtain a New U.K. Registration!!

seems to me as though it is actually now more user friendly... now they accept photocopys of important documents!!!
