sorry I didn't go back and check so if you have already answered this - but how did you alter the moonscape? Looks awesome!

No help at all with the query but very glad that they (in the second picture) chained the tank to the ground so that no one would steal it. 🤣

Great pics! looks like a great day. Love the E-type in the second last pic - trying to figure out the military connection for it and finally concluded it comes from Her Majesty's Secret Service, 007 division.
And yes I know he never drove a Jag - like that at least

great pic! and smart to carry a 'spare' on the back in case you break down. 😅

I now have M8 x 1.0 pitch Nuts and Bolts - but remain puzzled! The nuts screw on the original Tappet thread comfortably and I would be perfectly content to use them as the locking nuts for future use. The bolts screw in finger tight to a depth of about 3/8" only but then they start to tighten which makes me think that this cannot be right - they should screw down to almost 1 3/8" length to be similar to the originals if this is the right size.
Further thoughts, please!
Tony
Just wondering if they are either pipe thread for some bizarre reason, or, if they had been torqued and the threads stretched?

looks great! and I don't think it is possible to have too many pics! 👍

Lovely shot of a McLaughlin ambulance and VAD driver. This Canadian firm was a subsidiary of General Motors apparently. Thankyou Google !
McLaughlin Buick is still a recognizable name for old car folk in this country - interestingly GM is just in the process of closing its Oshawa plant which was where McLaughlin was from.

was at a home show today and of all things there was a Vimy display (In Canada this is related to a massive tree planting project.
Tried to take some pics (of pics) but in the meantime, here are a couple from this website (colourized)

Right now I am having a total sense of humour failure - not over the AEC but over the ongoing saga of the accident thats crippled us financially. Been 14 months now. The other party apparently is rather well off and is f*ck*ng the insurance about with false claims that then have to be investigated so we're waiting for a court date - which, of course, keeps getting put off.... I've just written to my insurers expaining the financial woes its causing us and pointing out that, as the fault was the other parties, we want the costs for all our financial stress and losses added to the claim as well as all the court costs. Let see if that wipes the smile off his face.
Since the 15 Oct last year I think I've been able to get over to the AEC just twice - firstly due to no vehicle then due to fuel costs. I've got the bank manager on my back more or less constantly now and it is pretty definite that if I can't get the claim sorted by the end of Q1 next year the AEC, the UAZ and the car will all be up for sale. This is beyond annoying - and frustrating. Not sure how the legal system works on your side of the pond, but, there comes a time when a lawyer might be needed - these are not the types of things that good faith and personal attention can solve.

that is really impressive! and done to a really high standard

Not an MV expert but we do know from MG and British Leyland world that, as mentioned, the engines were painted green. However, the paint vat was just refilled and refilled and while green, the exact shade was not standardized. So, now we buy a standard shade from places like Moss motors but originally there would have been more variation - but all just green.

Elle est chic?! 😄

looks so good so quick!

BTW - Once 'Just Jane' Lancaster gets airborne, would the Canadians mind coming back in their Lancaster for another summer so we can see a three Lancaster formation, not seen in the UK forthe best part of 70 years I guess.
I'll ask

If so then its not appropriate to give it D-Day stripes!
Much better would be to paint it as something operating in the South West Pacific!
I know even less about planes than tanks etc - so, this is what the website says: The aircraft now displays the markings of a B-25J of RAF No. 98 Squadron, which fought over North West Europe during 1944-45

A different sort of Military vehicle.
Sunday past was my car club picnic - held at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum - in Hamilton Ontario - about an hour west of Toronto. It is a great museum as it is almost entirely military planes - and the goal is that each should be flying. So, while we were there there was a Stearman biplane giving rides. The second best part is that the planes being restored are being restored in public view, so, I have watched them restore a Bollingbroke for almost 20 years now. The most famous resident is the Lancaster (one of two as you probably know) a good day was had by all!

Thanks I have now used considerable tension and the tank is now out!! What do people use to recondition these tanks I have read that something called POR15 is good?
I've not used it but those who have and those on the interweb will confirm that you must must must follow the instructions to the letter - and wear gloves - it doesn't wash off.

I wonder what the winch operator said.
Pretty sure I know.
In fact, as it started to go over and he jumped I suspect, first he said it - then he did it. 😜

On one of the other forums I frequent is a guy named Johnnybravo
http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/200406/wheels-on-wagon
He has a machine shop and is unbelievably talented - more to the point he makes many parts for tanks and I think <think> recently made a batch of connectors
try PMing him.
Another J Type on the way !
