  1. Got a couple of hours today to play about with the truck. Filled with water and sorted a couple of leaks, still got one to sort out at the water pump, which I believe looking in the manual is like a seal under a screw cap which you can tighten to just get rid of the drips. Still running from a funnel full of petrol, but had it running a lot better and used the hand throttle to keep it even. Need to tackle the Choke cable and I think un-cease the choke mechanism on the carb so it is easier to start. Attached is a link to a youtube video which I uploaded of the truck running!

  2. Had time a couple weeks ago to spend a couple hours tinkering on this truck, and managed with a funnel straight into to the pipe to the carb, to get it running. Obviously with no water it was only able to run for a few seconds - have now got all new pipes to put on the water system, so I can then fill the radiator up and have it running properly and then finally drive one of these for the first time!

  3. Awesome pictures! Finally found a couple of hours to spend on the new addition to my collection - the red one with no rear body. Had it running on a funnel full of petrol at a time, but at the moment some of the rad hoses are useless so i need to replace them, fill with water so i can run it and keep it running for more than 30 seconds at a time! First time i've heard one of these trucks run.....and wow! Can't wipe the smile off of my face!

  4. Thanks, first thing on the to do list is get it running under its own steam. You can still smell the original smell in the cab!! This hopefully will work hand in hand with my other FWD whenever the time to restore it comes as I have all the patters I need on either truck :)

  5. Good to meet you too.

I hadn't realised that repair panel was wood!

It's actually not as bad as you'd led me to believe but you've still got quite a project there. I'll look forward to watching progress.

Yeah the panel at the bottom of the screens is wood which is now pretty much rotten too, you'd have thought they would have covered it with a piece of steel too!
