  1. No its not worth it although technically possible, she will remain a garden feature as it brings back happy memories of being in Africa with it?
  2. Well I managed to find a new garden feature, I was asked to scrap her but having worked with the old Aztec for a number of years I felt sorry for her and decided it was worth trying to save!
  3. Hi guys its been just under a month from paying (Paypal) since I joined MVT and although I had a response from there registration service ( In record time:D ) I was beginning to wonder when my magazine and membership number were likely to roll up ( could do with the membership number for there other service). I'm certainly not moaning just wondering what next months out house reading will be:nut:. Jon
  4. https://www.facebook.com/Auster-AOP9-XP282-1564668173858888/ some more info and pics are here.
  5. There is a new page for the Eager Beaver on face ache which has to be worth an add for us running these corking machines, https://www.facebook.com/groups/1120258997998163/ Its not my page but as an owner I thought it may help others.
  6. Lucky enough to be sent some in service pics of her and more parts have arrived in the form of a pitot tube, ground power socket and some switches but alas a bit cold in the shed to play at the moment!
  7. Hello, Bit of a long shot but I wondered if any of you guys had any pics of the classic Austin Mini in RAF service? I have been tasked to restore one and would like to get it correct, I have seen a couple of fuzzy images from a google search but its hard to make the details out. Cheers Jon
  8. The Auster will be restored to fly, and should take around 3 years ( based on previous efforts ). I shall steam ahead with the airframe and use the spare time ex engine so it can be displayed at a few local shows/war weekends while a zero hour motor is being sourced/built.
  9. Thank you for the positive comments guys, I will try and keep the post running although progress wont be too rapid. I have managed to test fit the engine mounts and cowls ( bit of visual progress :-D ). The rear floor has gone in and the instrument panel found and placed. The project is 95% complete and many many parts are new old stock which always makes for an easier rebuild.
  10. Thought you guys might be interested in my little back burner project I have on the go, here are some pictures taken over the past couple of months with some progress made.......
  11. Hi Mark, Did you get yours to W and P? hope you got some pictures to share? We managed to get a pair to Woodhall spa war weekend even if I did not get my clutch sorted in time:embarrassed:
  12. My friend has one and it just struck me as an ace bit of kit, had a lot on past couple of years but hoping to settle in to a routine soon so I can give it more attention ( got to build the workshop first though ). I have just picked up a set of brake hoses and and spun the motor over as never had it running in the 3 years I have had it:embarrassed:. I hope to have it down the farm over xmass and get her blasted and painted. Here is some progress
  13. Just thought I would try and post a pic of my pride and joy project and see who else on here has one as it would be handy to have some contacts to throw questions/ideas at:-D Jon
  14. Hello, I often used to find my here when doing a spot of general internet research for my hobby/toys so thought it was about time I signed up:-D. I have a broad spectrum of interests and the toy box currently contains an Eager Beaver, Land Rover series 111 24v FFR, Auster AOP9, Trolley Acc ( I have a soft spot for Aircraft GSE ), deac 50cal and a German M25 saddle fully kitted out. Currently laid up with a slipped disc so no being a spanner monkey for me for a while:cry:. Regards Jon D
