  1. How many bottle openers does your vehicle have, just spent the weekend at a show and found out the following;

    Stalwart has at least 10 places to open a bottle with, these are the tie down hooks on the side of the main cargo doors.

    GMC Workshop has four steps into the back, all along the steps can be used to open a bottle and as the night wears on you can get to the lowest step.

    How many has your's ?

    wot o mark, how long did it take you to touch up your paint afterwards, ive been buying a barrel of bitter you get a free tap and stand, go straight to it and pour, saves wasting valuble drinking time looking for bottle opener :cool2:

  4. Hi Graham,

    Using a gantry to change engines is damned hard work. I used my friend's K6 Gantry to take out a Saracen engine, to renew the gearbox, as can be seen in this photo. Refitted it with a fork lift truck, much easier as it had side shift as well :)

  7. wot o to all, firstly i would like to apologize for the lateness of this message as i have already posted some replys and i did not know there was a place for introducing your self, i have only had a computer for a couple of months. so a little about myself, i am 41 and was brought up on a small dairy farm near heathfield east sussex. i have worked in agricultural contracting for 21 years until 2 years ago when i decided i had had enough and retrained as a floor and wall tiler and help a friend out building and landscaping.

    i have a lovely wife tammy and 2 year old daughter. i have wanted a willys jeep since i was 4 in hospital having my tonsels out when mum and dad brought a toy one in for me, 4 years ago i brought a real one, a hotchkiss m201 and then a trailer to go with it 2 years later i wanted a lorry, a british one, and after a short wait an austin k6 gantry came along and i brought it. i also belong to the easy company living history group. if you want to know any more just ask

    regards graham

  8. MWD gs trucks were fitted with run flat tyres,.....no spare carried, you could POSSIBLY use method as fitted to MWR's, that is spare wheel is bolted to carrier which in turn is supported from rear chassis member and held in place by bracket and tie bolt through tailboard. (saying possiby as not sure if mwr and mwd rear chassis are same with firrings etc.)

    I have seen ONE MW with depression in floor against front of body tub, with a central long bolt and plate 'fastener',........depression was trye sized, but owner wasn't about to ask, if 'home-brewed' or origional.

    (must say, though, if wheel/trye was in place there, fair amount of room way lost.)

    Also, this was reason, post forum crash, why i was enquiring about trye sealant.

    All the best,

    Andy.

    Wanted,......soft top 352 gmc in exchange for 1943 MW Bedford.:):)

    andy buy yourself a trailer:idea:
