  1. A couple of US tankers jackets, a post war belgian M1-ish helmet, WW2 helmet netting and fixed bales, a book on d day equipment and an M36 TD model. would have got a few more bargain items but couldn't take them back on the train!

  2. 80 000 SEK Swedish Krone or £6500 for this WC52

A bit pricey for what it is? Image removed. Copyright Milweb

    What do you think?

  3. We should be in attendance on Thursday, driving to Salisbury, 0715 train to Waterloo West, switch to Waterloo East station, then another train to Paddock Wood station and a two mile walk to the show, should be in Beltring by 10ish and leave at 6pm for the same back home again, hopefully with a nice US Tankers jacket and a few bits and bobs. Please don't rain!

  4. I agree with keeping these old warbirds flying, they are meant to fly and with so many people getting so much enjoyment out of seeing them fly, it would be a shame to see them cooped up in a museum getting covered in dust and leaking oil.

I worked on the BBMF's aircraft during 2006 and got to start up the engine on the Spitfire Mk IIa P7350 and the Hurricane Mk IIc LF363 for ground tests. It was quite good fun reassembeling the engine cowlings for the C47 ZA947, plus I got to climb around in all the aircraft and move the ailerons. By far the best experience was sitting in the rear gun turret position in PA474, imagining how those men flew and shot down enemy planes at 20,000ft over Germany.

These are for me, the reasons we must keep these historic aircraft flying - they are a true link to what went on 65 years ago.

  5. Joseph, do you mean "going" as in displaying your own vehicle? If so who is the co-ordinator for MV entries please?

Unfortunately I don't (yet) have a vehicle to display, I don't know who to ask about displaying vehicles either, oh and my name's Luke, not Joseph:-D

Most years it's just re-enactment groups with vehicles and not individuals,

    Cheers,

    Luke

  6. As a very keen armour modeller and wargamer I have bought 4 of the first issue and will be subscribing to this magazine as it works out at good value.

The Dragon Model Company sells prebuilt and painted plastic kits for near £20 per time so this will be alot cheaper and the kits are not that bad!

A bit of detailing and some weathering and they will look great in a display cabinet!

    Cheers,

    Luke

  7. I think you just described the whole WW2 tracked armour scene Joris!!:cry:

    Described to a tee!

From CMV on War and Peace 2008 ''There were reports that a Multibank Sherman sold on site for the price of a modest house''

    Silly Money!!!!!!
