  1. This kraz has been in the UK from late 1980's. It was in the czech army as radar truck medium to low contacts I think.

It was in the film 'reign of fire' and a James bond film.

She has the yamaz 238 in her non turbo as standard.

I got parts from an eBay seller based in Moscow, very reasonable prices as I'm not a rich man!

She used to over heat always so new head gaskets, studs, and thermostats were fitted.

She runs well now,I like how easy it is to work on.

Steering was heavy,I have flushed the system and adjusted the steering ram,it seems lighter to operate now.

making a lot of progress on 1531 know, all the wheels are built up and fitted, the range box is finished bar fitting the new top cover. the hand brake mechanism is mostly in i just need to get the shoes/pads lined and fitted. almost at the stage of choosing to start either the winch or the engine.

hopefully tomorrow will be another good day so should have another up date coming shortly.

    regards sam

  3. Would any body be interested in a green goddess, located in Devon.

Runs drives stops, has pump and kit.

Straight panels surface rust up front on panel joins. Good cabin glass, light lens missing on offside, rear lights off.

    Very good bar grip tyres

Can load pictures if people are keen

  4. I'd spotted it a while back due to its cab conversion, I assume it's the same one but unsure as the bonnet is slightly different on this flicker image.

  5. Hi all

I came across this on Facebook, courtesy of the Daily Mail.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-3310328/That-s-one-way-battle-congestion-Visitors-London-tour-bullet-bomb-proof-TANK-afford-1-500-ticket.html

Is it just me or does anyone else thing this is extremely bad for the hobby?

I am thinking the less we owners of armoured vehicles advertise the fact that "Joe-Public" can purchase such pieces of hardware and drive them around the streets, the more likely we are to be able to exercise such a privilege.

You'll notice I am steering away from the "legalities" of driving 43 series vehicles on the road as we have been there many times and we all know the arguments.

I don't know - maybe I'm getting grumpy in my old age but stuff like this makes me nervous.

    Markheliops

Your as 'Joe Public' as any one else.

    Live and let live.

  6. That's a very cold-war attitude :-)

The T64-T80 were really Ukranian products, seems unlikely they would have copied that old design. Reportedly the chassis a is a new universal platform that will be the basis for an entire series of vehicles. I don't see that it matters anyway, as with any new modern platform, it's just a shell with Torsion bars and wheels . The difference is in what you put on top IMO.

You have to admit that a full automated turret devoid of human occupants is a pretty radical step forward no?

It might not be decided yet, or finalized, on the T14. On the T15 There is a dedicated gunner /3rd crew member and he sits behind the commander but he's still in front of turret and inside the armoured "crew capsule". looks like he has he has his own cupola with vision blocks . On the t-14 however there sure doesn't seem to be a place for the 3rd guy?

yeah I'm sure this will be a great boost for the "defense budget" here in the US , we just can't seem to function as a society without a good dose of paranoia and a bogey man breathing down our necks.

    haha brilliant

  7. It's probably the same one(s) but I can remember back in the 1980s looking at a Nat Geo magazine and in the article about Antarctica, they showed a pair of turretless M2(?) combat cars that were left behind at some abandoned outpost. One was on it's side. I've been told there's lots of that stuff laying around up in Alaska as well.

    Matt

    Id holiday there!
