I'll second that picture request

We decided to go to this show last minute - I hadn't heard about it until my brother sent me a Facebook link. We made the mistake of going through Newark rather than Grantham so lost some time but still arrived in time to see the BBMF Hurricane & Spitfire display.
I'd been to East Kirkby Lincolnshire Heritage Aviation Centre last July for a friends Rover meet so was familiar with the site. The parking was easy & plentiful on arrival. Entry price was £12 per adult, we didn't see any concessions but it was all going to a good cause.
The Lanc was set up near the watch tower and for £2 you could view the cockpit up close. People who had paid quite a bit more got to taxi up & down the airfield. Shortly afterwards we were treated to a live firing display from the two M36 Jacksons against simulated 'hitler youth'. A real treat was the £3 airfield tour in the Bedford OX & Queen Mary trailer. The driver gave a very knowledgeable & humouruos narration of the airfields history with several stops along the way - well worth doing if you go.
The local MVT were in attendance and aside from the two M36s there was a small interesting selection of vehicles - especially the mighty Foden EKA . We found there were plenty of toilets & food outlets and the event was well attended without being overcrowded. The setting provides a good historic backdrop and is interesting in its own right. If this event occurs next year, I'll take the Militant.
The show is on again today - recommended.

Sounds ideal Rick, please post some photo's. I'll keep an eye out for a suitable trailer around here.
I'll second that photo request 👍😀 will keep an eye out for a trailer.

When it runs - which in fairness it usually does - its very good. Normally we use it at places like W&P to keep the caravan battery charged - which is what it will be used for once the Militant is on the road I think it was worth the money.
Mine now lives on a farm/stables a good few hundred feet from the nearest known power point hence why I wanted to use it yesterday
👍 Thanks, will look out for one when they hopefully have stock again.

Aside from its rest day, is that Aldi work zone gene any good? Seen them in store. Nice project you have there.

I've been zero rate taxing mine online since I owned it - Oct 2013.

Moved the Mili to temporary storage today as the bodyshop chap called to say he'd fallen off some ladders and hurt himself. My storage for the last month expired today so I hastily arranged storage at a workshop near Ashbourne until next week & have asked them to sort two difficult-to-get-to air leaks & re arrange, secure & re cable the batteries. Looking forward to finally getting it painted, I may yet make Wicksteed. Tomorrow I can pick up this tent I will use when at shows.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/222087943039 - depends on 'mot at a cost'
https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/131745763297 - more info required, too much fuss to haul manual ramps big enough to cope with your tank?

still looking although i don't have the money yet but i'll scratch it up from somewhere.
anyway the plan so far is to buy a 6x2 tractor unit with enough mot left to get me through to the end of the season. that's a fairly simple process as there's plenty around for under £5k.
the tricky bit is getting a low loader with mot for the right money. if anyone knows of any could you let me know. cheers
i was talking to a friend that drives for a living and he loves his stralis so i might go down that route, although i don't think you can go far wrong with any modern truck as long as it has plenty of test left on it

They also had a Foden type EKA Compact mounted on an MAN 6x6.
Saw that a few months ago, makes a nice comparison.
