If you directly energise the motor from the battery, it will bypass any relays, etc. That will test the motor. Work back from there - it's a fairly simple control system...

Does he have the manual? It has troubleshooting techniques and wiring diagrams in it. As a test, bypassing the switch with a couple of jumper wires should tell you pretty quickly if the motor works or not.

Running with no pressure in the accumulators won't damage anything, but it's not safe; the accumulators effectively act as a battery for hydraulic pressure. In the event that you lose the drive belt, or the pump fails, you'll find that you suddenly have _very_ heavy steering and no brakes, other than the hand brake.

If you don't have the equipment yourself, any hydraulics shop should be able to charge them up for you for a moderate fee.

My Saracen is fitted with the later 4 barrelled smoke dischargers and they have a larger diameter and instead of using a separate charge to propel them, appear to have an electric probe that goes into the bottom of the grenade and sets it off that way.

Sounds like an interesting place. I'll have to add it to my list of things to see and do in NZ.

Prices are in Australian Dollars, so cheaper than USD. We call CMP trucks Blitz trucks in Australia, for some reason, but they have a listing for the F60S. You might need to email/call to confirm that it has all of the attachments you require.

I'll probably never own one - I prefer post war and soft skins don't really do it for me, but I drove a WC51 in this year's ANZAC Day March in Adelaide, and it was a lovely truck. I've got to admit that I was tempted.
