  1. Had a wander today - I reckon probably the same number of traders as somebody else mentionned, though a bit more spread out. All seemed in good spirits when we nattered.

I don't think there's as many vehicle related traders though - as with other shows this year there seems to be a move towards the reenactor/relic market. That said there are some gems in amongst it all that you wouldn't find anywhere else :)

  2. I went past two WC54's parked up an a slip road just off the A14 in the middle of roadworks near Huntingdon. I did a circuit to come back around and check if all was OK but they'd moved on.

    Nice looking vehicles :)

  3. And something to acompany the shoes?

While I can't speak for Rosie, I think I'd need two of those thongs tied together to get around me "bunting style", and that would probably spoil the look...

That, and when they ride up they have a nasty habit of whistling when you break wind. Not flattering, and if you're not careful dogs start barking for miles around.

  4. I have to say the WOT does run hot - hotter than the CMP does, and that's with a similar but larger engine (ford mercury V8).

I've got a new coil through but as yet haven't fitted it. A previous owner has (I assume) moved the coil out of the engine bay to the passenger footwell, which may be to help protect it from the heat.

My water temperature gauge appears to be a bit iffy, so I may take it out and get it repaired so I can keep an eye on things. If they are that finicky about radiators I may get that re-cored as a matter of course, just so I know it's all tickety boo (I know it's a bit gunky, so the water system is at least due for a good flush).

  5. Are you checking the voltage with the battery charger disconnected?

The connections you've described sound right (the link between the batteries should definitely be + on one battery to - on the other).

If all you hear is a click it could be the solenoid, so that might be worth a look (I haven't found it on my WOT yet though, so don't ask me where to look :) When you've found it you can try bypassing it to see if the starter motor spins.

  6. It's a lot easier to work on these and see what's happening with the pack out. Even if you can do it through the hatch, I reckon you'd be making a mistake not to lift. It's not that major a task to lift and you get easy access and all around visibility.

  7. Thanks guys, that's exactly the problem I'm having. I'll try replacing the coil (it's a modern one mounted in the passenger footwell).

She definitely runs hotter than the CMP does!

I'm actually pondering leaving her paintwork as-is - I had a lot of good feedback about her pattina of age, so if I'm go for preserving as-is I'll need to colour match some paint and touch up the bits that need doing.

  8. A quick query to the other WOT owners - she's putting a lot of water out of the "overflow" tube to the bottom right side of the radiator. Looking in under the cap there's no spring/plate to push down and pressurise the radiator, so the water just squirts straight out of the tube as soon as it boils. Is that normal on WOTs or am I missing something?
