I'm going for Pierce-Arrow. These were supplied to both the British and the French in WW1.

The Rolls-Royce Armoured Cars are of the 1920 pattern. This was an improved edition of the original 1914 pattern. The Disc wheels were fitted to a modified hub which bolted to the orignal hub and used the same hubcap.

We are still in the early planning stage. We hope to come over for the War and Peace Show, D Day, some Steam Rallies and more. Thinking about purchasing a mobile home/camper-van, and that will cover our accommodation and transport. Then sell it when we leave. Any clues there will be of assistance. Never been over there before, so it is all new to us.

As an upcoming visitor from OZ (with 3 ex British vehicles at home), just where is this museum? We will be in England/Europe next year, for the 65th Anniversary of D Day, and to visit a number of other memorials. I would like to obtain some information on our WW1 Albion A10 3tonner. Do they have records going back that far? thanks Rick

This caravan conversion is definately on a late model FORD F60L chassis and I would hazard a guess that it is from 1944/45. Why not a Chev C60L, well the steering box is more visible and the front body work curves up over the box and the horn. The grill is also made of square mesh whereas the Chev is diamond pattern mesh. The lifting rings on the front and rear axles did not come into use until late 1944.

I believe that there is still a Silver Ghost Rolls-Royce fitted with Kegresse tracks still in Russia. I saw a photo of it many years ago. Has to be pre.1925. as the Ghost was only built to 1924.
