Hi All

Hi , Well done on sorting fuel problem , however i would be a bit concerned as to why it went out of adjustment in the first place , especially if it was a good runner before hand . I had an abbot pack once which although everything appeared free and had been a good runner, when was started jumped to maximum revs, not a runaway just the pistons in the pump were at the full position .
keep up the good work and lets us know how it behaves

Anyone got a 'how to' for replacing the final drive oil seals?
(The seal between the hub and casing)
Cheers!
Hi . i found that a pallet trolley and two long bits of threaded rod gets final drives off and on quite simply.

Hi all,
I'm currently on the hunt for a Meteor starter motor. I don't know if there are different types (I gather the Cromwell had a remote mounted job?) but my ex-Cent example appears to be a direct input to the incline drive box via a 3-toothed dog.
Has anyone got a spare lying around please?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi Matt, Yes i've got at least one spare for my cent.
cheers

Having got round to fitting new injection pump to my Militant wrecker and got her running, I've discovered the offside air tank has a small hole which is leaking air and not building pressure , any hints on removal and repair .
thanks

I had similar problem with a recon j60 traced it to the HT lead
-
Hi , does anyone know how to get more windage on a no 32 scope , is it possible to do without a scope adjustment tool.
Thanks Ian
-
Just to keep you all informed ,traced fault to a cracked HT lead at the no 1 cylinder at the distributor cap which was giving continual spark to that plug and preventing engine running . Had same fault been on one of my old stollys then plug and HT leads would have been changed first thing but i did not consider that on a recon J60 with less than 1 hour running time.

Sabre started easily drove out shed and she cut out. have tried fuel ,fitted different carb all to no avail , she tries to start but has a continual missfire , i have traced it to the no1 plug has continual stream of sparks while the rest are sparking at the proper interval. Anyone suggest what would cause this to happen .

I have 24v at the gear lever wires when i try the start toggle,as the engine junction box is below the fans and impossible to get to in situ i have decided to pull the pack ,it needs the mud cleaned out from the hull anyway and i might find and cure the small hydraulic leak at the same time . will keep you posted as to what the problem is . Thanks for your help
Cheers Ian
-
Thanks , on this Abbot the inhibitor switch was taken off years ago before i got it and the wires joined , the join appears ok but i will check it before i pull the pack , should there be 24v at that join ?.

Hi All , Many thanks for all your help and advice , have cleaned DLB solenoid contacts and am getting 24v at the engine services cable at pin A on a test bulb, right at the pack marriage panel. sadly still nothing so am resigned to pull the pack and take starter off and either replace or repair.
Thanks Ian

Hi , Looking for some ideas . Abbot wont start , tried to turn over once then nothing . not even clonk from starter motor solenoid. took engine services plug out and dont get 24v for starter . tried new cable same . DLB start solenoid pulls in when starter button is on . Any suggestions ??

Ian,
Have you solved this problem?
John
Hi John, sorry for not getting back earlier been very busy at work . pump rack bar is stripped inside and either spend serious money on rebuild or (preferably) find second hand one.
cheers
