I haven't seen any mention on this forum, but the consultation regarding removing exemption categories has re-surfaced. The new consultation can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/hgv-periodic-testing-and-inspections-exemptions It closes March 5th 2015, so I would suggest anyone with concerns write a letter to the Department.

Hello everyone, My name is Arthur, and I am located in Somerset. I am interested in anything old with wheels (or tracks), whether it be cars, lorries, tractors, plant etc. I work in IT, but most of my spare time is taken up with old vehicles in one way or another, and my Dad and I are currently restoring an old Ford Thames Trader lorry. He also owns a Ford Jeep, so hopefully that qualifies me to be here! I have visited your website before as a non-member, but recently found a post that grabbed my attention, and I would like to PM the member, so my initial intention in joining is to get in touch with one specific member, but afterwards, I will try to browse the forums further and get more involved.
