  1. Was first loitering around the forum back in 2012 and until now just didn't have the time or money to indulge in an Ex Mil vehicle.

Changed jobs recently from 80+ hours a week to a more normal 40 so now find I've found the time but still no funds!!

This leads me to offering a spare set of hands if anyone wants help with their project or even the upkeep of a finished vehicle.

Happy tinkering on anything from a Generator to a Chieftain through to a CR1, have tools and not afraid to abuse them :nut:

Im based in Stourport On Severn, give me a shout if I can help...

bugger! your a bit far, im down buckingham way if your ever down my way and bored! got lots to play with ;)

  2. ive used quick transport before to move a Ferret, Very good!

I normally use Hedge recovery services in MK, He's a young lad and very steady and understands old stuff!

In my previous job I used a couple of hauliers from Lamboun near Hungerford, Quick Transport on 01488 72020, ask for Kevin Quick and J.D. Bracey & Sons on 01488 71785 (both phone numbers only have 9 digits). Both are reliable and reasonably priced.
  3. Good Afternoon All,

Thought I should introduce myself, so here goes. My name is Ed and I am based in North Oxfordshire (between Banbury/Buckingham).

I own a 1942 BEDFORD MW. It has a general service body but it started life as a tanked version (MWC 39307). I believe it was converted at some stage in military service. I unfortunately do not know it's contract or Z number, or its post war reg.

My interest area is British WW2 and I am active with Home Guard and British Army Reenactment Groups.

My target is to one day have a Bedford QL project and I also love the smaller Humbers and Morris Commerials. If I won the lottery ; A Universal/ Bren Carrier is the dream.

I look forward to speaking with you all over the coming years!

    Ed

Hi ed, good to see you've made it on here, you must nip over and look at that mortar trailer we've got and while your at it have a go in a carrier ;)

  4. Definitely number 5

But Pop it on a low loader, Use it around the arena and have a general good time with her, crush a few cars.. set a few car alarms go off, make it into or onto the front page of Classic military vehicles mag and win a few awards.

End of the show, Stick it back on the low loader get it delivered back to the shed, spend 3 days washing all the mud and crap off it and maintain it.

    Easy!

  5. Evening chaps,

I'm on the hunt for a Morris C8 Back body, the one i have just seems to need a little bit too much work, Ideally looking for a 1500 weight radio body but will consider something else!

if anyone has the correct wireless distributor for sale of knows of one can you give me a shout!

And finally does anyone have a spare 9.00-16 rim kicking around?

    Thanks chaps!

  6. your a silly silly silly man! I LOVE IT!!

Ill come and play with your stolly again soon and check out your 432 mate!

Tom.... With all the silly vehicles down the road!

    Hi All,

Im a Mk1 432 owner, a Mk1 Stalwart owner, a Bedford Green Goddess owner, a DAF 4 tonner owner and a Dennis RS V8 owner. I do experience days with them all and we also have a lot of racing cars to play with too!

Am always on the lookout for parts, especially for the 432 as this is a new acquisition!

Look forward to using the forums!

  7. I thought the Show was much more laid back this year, There were gaps, but in half the pictures the photographer has taken them in places that were empty, in the picture of the C8 if he turned around you would have seen a Guy quad ant, a hagglund BV206, an early Bedford MW, Morris Portee and 17pdr gun, T-16, a scout carrier and a centurion AVRE, Thats just what we took to the show on our stand.

The whole driving vehicles around was much more laid back, I used to have to have someone walking in front of me when driving the Cent and now i don't.... this could be good or bad when you have 52 tonnes going along, But a bren carrier i don't think you need too!

lots of interesting vehicles for the taking.

Got to have a ride on a comet and a good chat about restoring one

And the british battle was good to watch and be in! No let downs on vehicles not turning up either!

Lots of Funny antics at night which you Should expect! will be back next year

  8. yeah mate, the one you sent me a pic of looked like a minter!

ill try to drop over this week at some point to drop your tilly wheels off, i have sandblasted them and put them into red lead primer for you... sorry I've been a bit slow in doing it for you had to pretty much rebuild the morris for a film job as someone had let them down badly!
