  4. Hi There Do you need any any engine parts ? A lovely machine you got there...
  5. Hi Thanks for the picture of the floor pans ! Thinking of making one somehow. Had a good day working on her today, fitted the hydrovac pipe and valve, Oil can holder, wiring connector bracket, painted and fitted fender supports, Mr W collected side panels, Hood and fenders for blasting and painting. finished at 23.20 long day.....Oh yes drabbed the engine fitted metal fuel pipe to carb, tested the fuel pump which actually worked great after I unsiezed it and gave it a good clean out.I will replace it with a new one and keep it as a spare. Anyway heres a couple of pics, paint still wet thats why its a little glossy.
  6. Fire wall back in ! it was in a lot of pieces but gradually I stuck it back together, cleaned up the steering wheel and painted all the inside of the cab.. Just have to make a floor pan as its missing, if anyone has a photo of one then that would help...
  7. Well done Howard glad your not breaking her now...
  8. Warmer today down there ! Started to straighten the Bumper, cutting and re welding the top, have the bottom to do next, getting better... Started fitting the Firewall, fire ex bracket, fitted Oil filter and pipework.
  9. Hi This is for you Mark ! The original Bulkhead...
  10. Hi there, The Big difference is GMC were 6 x 6 and Chevys were 4 x 4 lets see some pics of yours ? It was like painting treacle today ! All welded up now ready for the firewall to go back on. Not related to Howard just good friends...
  11. Wicked ! Cant wait to join you guys... finished the welding the bulkhead of all the holes today. Very very cold down there, pictures coming later once I have defrosted..
  12. Hi Paul, Interested in the Master cyl kit but mine needs sleeving I reckon first as its very corroded. Do you need manifold gaskets ? i got 4 new sets spare, in the greased boxes. Looking forward to a Chevy line up.... Malc
  13. Ah Thanks H, I will be there fingers crossed in the Chev, otherwise I will be in the Jeep. Welded up the drivers side bulkhead today and the middle section, but ran out of Gas so couldnt finish. a huge piece of cork arrived today so ready to fabricate new gaskets now for Rocker Cover and engine side panel. I need some heat down there soon. Back down there Saturday.
  14. Engine back together and back in...Now running.
  15. Heres some more pictures, note the new transfer box section with jig in place. Original 235 engine. Tackling the Front Bumper next as its a little bent up.
  16. Hi all, I can see why the old gentleman simply left them in the Hedge at times ! after severing my finger in the angle grinder, suffering from Hypothermia ! and now Bronchitus, numerous burns and cutting my head open on the side step (only noticing as my welding fizzed as blood poured into the welds) almost divorce ! attempted break ins ! Rats ! I am sure it will be worth the effort ! it is of little sacrifice to the Guys and Girls of the 8th and 9th Air force that once trusted such vehicles during WW2 in East Anglia. Roll on the Rally season....lest we forget
  17. Ah Thanks ! I would be there now but its too damm cold ! Tackling the Cab this week welding all the many many holes that have been made in the Bulkhead, finished the passenger side, welding drivers side on Thurs, finished the Dash board as there were many holes in that too, cut in the Locker catch that was fitted with a furniture fitting. All the Panels have to come off next for sand blasting and primering, theres no heating in the workshop, so painting is a problem. I first found the trucks two years ago and its taken two years of negotiations to get this far ! I really want to see the Chevy done for Beltring this year ! I am trying my best...Thanks for all your support. Special thanks to Mr W my blaster and parts finder..
  18. Poor old thing fell to pieces ! I started the restoration in early Novemember so I think its progressing well.
  19. Hi All A brave restoration yes, Cab going on after new centre cross member was made / Transfer box support and six weeks welding the very poor chassis which I held together with a Jig as it was so weak. I am not doing anything with the Chevy No2 until this one is finished. I believe this Chev to a 41 model, I am fitting a Cargo body as all the tipping gear ect is long gone as it was a breakdown truck at Ricks of Dereham Norfolk before finally going for scrap. more pictures to come........
  20. Finally they are both in the dry, one was a pole setter or earth borer the other one a tipper with winch. I found a very good cab in one of the Sheds in the yard which I got with the deal...I do need parts if any one can help ?
  21. Hi All I am new to this forum, but thought you all would like to see what I found in a hedge ! In fact 2 chevys ! after lots of negotiations I bought the two which are currently in storage, with one under restoration, they were found in a scrap yard and are very poor condition, I hope to have one ready for Beltring this year. I have been working day and night since Oct and there is great progress, stripped to basic chassis and sand blasted, engine was siezed but now a runner, chassis was so bad the tranfer box half fell out ! More images to come if there is some interest...
