Reading all the comments on Facebook about the new charges for reenactors support parking I think Rex's stall will have queue to talk to him..
yes for our group thats about £600... quite a chunk of change on top of getting all out kit there and putting a display on.

Thats is a lot of kit. The US needing 20,000 container loads and a$3billion cost.
This was interesting too... I would buy a few at this price!
Among them are about 1,600-1,700 US Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles or MRAPs - the $1m (£604,000), 20-tonne vehicle designed to protect soldiers in Afghanistan from improvised explosive devices, or roadside bombs, that have proved so lethal.
About 9,000 MRAPs will be shipped back from Afghanistan, but the rest will go up for auction at around $2,000- $5,000 each (£1,200-£3,000).

Nice selection of tanks! I seem to recall seeing your M746 Tank Transporter years ago at Astle Park traction engine rally, was that yours as there are not many around

Nice work, I remember this truck as it was parked next to us a few years running at War & Peace.

I collect a few things;
- US Militaria - specifically relating to US Special Forces and MACV-SOG, specifically named groupings from veterans. I also collate interviews with SOG veterans on the site - as can be seen on my website below
- Books - any history related books but I like scouring second hand book shops for Churchill related books
- Small scale models - I have about 900 1/76th-1//72nd scale models...getting out of hand. British softskins being my bag here
That kinda keeps me busy along with collecting the vehicles of course

Whilst working on my MCC PU8, i have found a very good example of the mid war British Camo scheme, i hope the photos do it justice, but when compared to Mike Starmers colours at the back of his book, the two colours look like Khaki Green base and Tarmac disruptive.
i will remove more of the lime green post war colour, but again thisis a really good reference.

Fantastic reference. Almost worth preserving like that, but then you would be missing a component for your truck...

Nice one. Looks great and will get one ordered now, the combination of their past history and your knowledge should be a cracker.

When was the desert DPM pattern introduced
in Clothing/uniforms
Posted
Nice potted history. I do recall Iraq using the 4 colour DPM desert and read this is why we didn't use it in GW1?
