  1. Hello all,

We are doing a full strip restoratoration on our Mk 6 Saracen, and upon removing the rear add-on plates on the doors, we have found in white block letters, on both doors, the word "WATERED"

Its white, approx 4 inches high

    Ideas?

    Many Thanks

I'm probably wrong but maybe for a water cannon?

  2. Hello All,

I would just like to give some information on 29 BK 75. It is now a gate guard at Dalton Barracks, Oxfordshire, formerly RAF Abingdon. It has the MK1 Barricade Remover and I think it served in NI. The interior is filled with rubbish and crap. There is no gearbox and engine, but most of the front interior is intact. Most valuable stuff has been removed. I have more pictures, but cant find them, so here is one of me next to it.

  3. Hi Guys,

I'm going to tart doing Falklands reenactment, as a Corporal in the 2nd Parachute Regiment. I've got a Para smock, but I have no clue to what should go on it. At the moment it has corporal stripes on the right arm. What type of Para wings should I get and where should they go? Should I have any 'flashes'?

    Many Thanks,

  4. The only colour on it is Blue from the factory, and the red oxide primer. Tomorrow I may be able to find a patch to rub down and have a look. The only reg number is civvie I think. It is H902 UWY I beleive off the top of my head. There was definatley a sticker there though. I'll have a look at the chassis plate as well. After the Landy was used in the RAF it went to Serco and Chubb. Thanks for the help so far guys,

  5. Hi guys,

I've been looking through old pictures of my Landy. When we first got it it was ex-RAF and still had the outline on the rear panels where the old sticker used to be. I have never come across this shape before. It looks to be a Octagonal Star shape. I beleive it was at Brize Norton around 1991-1994 as it was first registered in 1991. Anyone got any info on the shape or even the Landy?

  6. Hi everyone,

Just looking over the web and have found 3 people claiming they have got 58 pattern twin SLR ammo pouches. One person here - eBay item

    200775382858.

I've spoken to my dad, who is ex-Signals and he used 58, and he says the only twin ammo pouch in 58 was for the SA80, and they came in a couple of years before CS95. I recently got hold of 58 SA80 twin ammo pouches (For free) and my dad has a set in the loft, but the claims has got me really confused! Can anyone clarify on the matter.

    Thanks,

    Will

  7. Man thats cool!

I went to a show and the bloke there had nearly a complete set! I stupidly didnt buy it for the price of £2!!!!! as I was looking for 58 and didnt realise what it was. My father just said it was some s**t version of 58 inbetween 58 and 95! Anyone have a link for the Silvermans stuff, as I searched but it seems to gone??

BTW isnt it 72 Pattern, not 77???

  8. Hi guys,

I think this the right place to put this. I'm looking for large and preferably high resolution photos/scans of the British Army Figure 11 target, the Hostage Scenario Target, and the target used for Northern Ireland Troop practice. I need these to print on A4 paper for airsoft practice! I have looked but can only find small ones!

    Thanks,

    Will

  9. Hi, I'm new here,

This is mine and my dads project, we've had it a while now. It's an 1982 EX-RAF Defender 90. First the RAF had it; I think it was on patrolling duties and running around at RAF Brize Norton. It was then sold to Chubb and then Serco. It has been used thoroughly, Serco then nearly scrapped it eek.gif. Then we got hold of it! We started off by cleaning it out, and taking all the ply paneling out. Then we changed the rear windows for some Alpine ones, to make it more useable for the road. We changed the wheels for some 8-Spokes, but those were changed back to the originals, which where shot blasted and painted. We also 3 brand new Landie steelies. My dad works at a military base, some in the school holidays, we took it into a garage, and pulled it apart. It got brand new doors, seats (all round), winch, winch bumper and lots of other things. It was then shipped to Yorkshire to be re-painted. Once it was home, we had gathered a few more things to go on it (It was there for aaaaaaagggggggggeeeeeeesssssssss!!!!). A Snorkel and swing away has gone on so far, a suspension lift is still in the shed waiting and we have a roof rack on the way :-D! Now on to the photos!!......

  10. Hello all,

I'm Will, 16, and have a Ex-RAF Landie. Me and my dad are rebuilding it, and I'm learning alot. I'm from Abingdon, Oxfordshire. I'm in the Air Cadets, and would like to join the military when I'm older. Already I'm finding the forum useful with loits of tips, and its a brilliant place to learn about my favourite Military Vehicle, The Humber Pig.

    Thanks
