  1. RedtapeShyte.:argh::argh:

    Neil I know I should have mentioned this before but up here people take vehicles to the local DVLA on a trailer and get it all done at once. Would it be worth ringing DVLA offices near your route see if one of them has somebody available to check the OT over and issue necessary. I know it's clutching at straws and timing would be fairly crucial also cooperation of the haulier but desperate situations need desperate measures.

    You got to be joking,if you think that DVLA Sidcup will come from there office on the second floor to do an inspection.They couldnt even do a simple plate transfer for me,without going back three times.
  2. Mark,

    I remember the L/wt, we would all camp with Rog J & Co at the rallies in those days........Beltring, Rushmoor, Southsea, Parham, etc.

    Richard

    I have some pics somewhere of the above mentioned.I will have to dig them out.They also made it in to Wheels and Tracks on a regular basis.

    Just found this shot of Stev's Pinkie soon after he bought it......at an event at Brands Hatch.
    Before the pinkie,he had a very nice and fully equipped Lightweight FFR.The Pinkie is now up for sale in the classifieds.

  5. I would agree on a 101.I have a G.S that i have had for the last 10 years,and the ambulance version that i had for a couple of years.I found the handling on the Ambulance to be dreadful on any thing but a straight road.I spoke with one of the workers from Marshalls who built the rears doors and installed the heating system on them.It was generally agreed by the workers there,that they were a bit too top heavy,and i would agree with that.

    My now sold 101 Ambulance

    The 101 was a PRB one, I remember trevor and his Saudi 101, he used to hang around Steve Wright with the Pinky.

    I bought Trevors old LTWT prior to him buying the Saudi 101

    This one infact.Its funny as they were both prominant on the MV scene for a few years.Then both dissappeared altogether.Just a note but Steves old Pinkie is currently up for sale by Barry Pocock in the classifieds.

  7.

    1985 it was a landrover 101 sold without engine and gearbox and then you want another then another etc.
    You boght either a PRB one.Or Ian Middlehurst example???.Around the same time that Trevor Boreham had the immaculate ex Saudi example,and Steve Wright had one of the magnificant 7 from the LTWT centre?.
  8. Well.First of all i want to offer my sincere apologies to Jack and the team.It was me who made the comment of(if it aint broke then dont try to fix it)I made the comment due to the fact in the days before the crash,a lot of comments were made and certain parts of the site had changed.I naturally thought that due to changes,someone had gone a bit to far and crashed the system.Yes, it has been upsetting for a lot of people me included.But i think that is due to HMVF being a victim of its on success.Look at it this way.It wont be long before this site is seen as the main point of information on anything in the MV world.even above the likes of Classic Military and MMI.Instead of having monthly news as in these two publications, on here is up to the minute.This forum is one of many that i use.Mainly Sports car and motor racing forums.But it is generally accepted amongst these other forums that on line media is the way forward.So i'm sorry for being a bit off hand,as its here that i come for info and a chat rather than wait for the publications.Sorry for my ramblings.........Must check on Catweazle later to see if he,s ok.Bye for now.

  9. I know how you feel mate.A lot of time and effort put in here by a lot of people.And all wiped out.Someone needs to know that old saying of.If is is'nt broke,then dont try to fix it!.I think a lot of people are going to be off of posting after this debacle!.
