The badges are 52nd Lowland Division (Brigade after 67) and on the other side a yellow and blue  square with a white strip on top on which the unit designation was sometimes printed.    On the door is a Royal Corps of Transport transfer.  

Probably either 153 or 154  Transport Regiment RCT.

Whats going to happen all the DP weapons the Cadet Forces had to hand in last year.   Scrap I assume.

Presumably the .22 Rifles which they only aquired abour 3 years ago which have also been withdrawn will be sold as not real military weapons.

Unless you know better I would be very surprised if the MOD store much of anything these days including weapons.

The tatical docterine is that any major conflict would not last long plus it costs money to store anything in bulk.

The original finsh would have been matt but many will recommend satin for durabilty.

Whether it will be green or brown will depend on when the vehicle was manufactured.

If MG37GA is the serial number its the same gun in each advert or false markings?

I understand that the scrap yard in Trowbridge spent a week cutting these up with a Civil Servant watching them do it.

I believe a lot of Indian 7.62 guns were passed off as British ones some years ago but without looking at the part numbers its impossible to say if this is abitza or not, but clearly has a 7.62 Receiver and Barrel.

I had the same experience when I joined he LAD of the RY in Trowbridge.    I owned a Saladin a the time which painfully needed a B81 instead of a B80 to give it more power but jumping into a Fox and being able to pull out on to roundabouts at the same speed as a car was amazing.

Most 7.62mm I have observed are Israeli.

Watch out for ones that have been converted to 7.62mm as well.

They are worth less.

The presence of Rifle Clips and green paint inside the cap would suggest the MOD tested it.

1939 dated RAF Fire Extinguisher price £70.00.

Collect from Trowbridge or Malvern.

The fact it has brakes front and rear makes it a MkV* so later rather than earlier but not sure when this mark was introduced.

Bear in mind also the colour of canvas depending on when the vehicle was manufactured.

Can anyone suggest an Engine Reconditional please who can rebuid war-time Humber engines and who does not have a very long waiting list.

Should go well with all the vehicles using them.   Hopefully 11.00 X 20 next as the other common war-time size found on all 3 tonners.
